Hello, 110mb have changed their policy's many days ago. But i think they should not do that coz it seems like they offered that for a limited time period but never showed us that & now when they saw that they got more then enough accounts they changed their policy's ! same as co.cc This only means that we should not trust 110mb again if they are offering 110mb space today they can offer 10 mb space tommorow! means unreliable! If they says the service was getting tiny winy too expensive then why not they can place adverts on 110mb panel (not on our websites) such as google adsese, cpx interactive & etc.. 110mb have 100000000000000000s of customers means 1000000000000s of pageviews will be with cpz interactive & they will earn upto $9000 daily (i guess ) Now these days a good free web host offers space upto 5GB & bw upto 100GB & ftp on by default but 110mb is too much expensive! & still their are many downtimes with box16,box17? What if 110mb offers 1GB disk space with 50GB BW & FTP on by default? it'll good! Now how many of you agree with me? What if 110mb changed policy's again? & start offering 50mb space & 1GB bw? or maybe more less? I now 110mb is not going to agree with me but its just my suggestion Everyone will be happy with it! & if you people will agree with me then 110mb may offer us more Regards~

Look, 110mb need to stay alive. Would you rather a bankrupt host with loads of storage and bandwidth that you'll never never use or a high-uptime host with good storage and bandwidth limits. 110mb has never removed features from registered accounts, they have only reduced the features provided to new signups. Oh and, 110mb do put ads on the 110CP.

I know everyone likes free lunch, and certainly it is available to people in the know. However, times have changed and they have to do everything we could to maintain a reasonable level of service. They're doing their best.

This new policy does surprise me, but I think that they've got to do what they have to do to stay in business (though, FTP off is a little much). I still think 110mb is an amazing site. I want them to stay in business and that's something that probably wouldn't be possible with their old policies.

110mb does have a strange new policy. I guess everyone else loves defending it.

I was already getting sick of downtimes, and then I saw this, so I'm currently hosted with another free host, and I plan to upgrade to a reasonably priced paid host soon.

i think we have to look for the features we really want, then go with that host. 110mb limits me in a few ways, but i would rather have this forum and uptime. speaking of which, my suggestion would be to have the help forum separate from the main site, so it would be up when 110mb went down. tell me if i'm incorrect about that consistency?

I think the changing of the policy for new users had a good reason - not only bringing in more finances to keep the service running and maybe even improve it but to keep new servers running smoothly. Just look at what's happening to the new servers in the last year or so: they always break down under the too heavy load of new users. Restricting the activity of new users somehow helps to keep them running.
But one could think about giving more benefits to the new users for constructive activity on the forum after a while.

I have to point out one thing. Remember when they made MySql a paid upgrade or a 350 useful posts kind of thing? Well, you remember when they had all of us email 110mbx.serverx [@x] gmailx.comx (x's to help fool sphiders) with all of our account info (forum username, url, login and so on) so they would re-enable the options. (hinting at people who did not have 350 posts) That was one time. Fortunataly for me, I had enough posts for my 3 accounts (box5, box 9, box9). Dont get me wrong, I love what 110mb does, and I love that I am grandfathered in. Just my 2 cents. Stereofreak69

Um...110mb is free. And the upgrades are one time payments. Where'd you get the "too much expensive?"

I'd say that 110mb has one of the best free hosting deals. Yeah, sure, they disabled FTP for new users, but thats to discourage people uploading huge files, and putting crap on the servers. And a 1 time $9 fee isnt bad.
Normally, you would need to pay per month to have all of the features that 110mb has, and yet for a one off payment of about $27, you can have all of the features for life!

I still say that this change is not good for me & also for other members! I do not have credit card! & cannot use paypal coz paypal is not available in pakistan . So how i can pay? I have my own TLD domain which is registered by uacommunication.com which is located in my account & accept payment via wiretransfer/bank account/moneybooker & many more ways.... So now how can i pay 110mb for hosting? if theres any way please notify me

Well, they should at least change their affiliate ads for the new policy.
