The filemanager is perfect for the job.

Why not? It would be better to have seperate sticky posts regarding "Getting Started", "FTP Questions", "Sending Mail", "Configure your Domain Name" etc.. Just some choise ones that are being constantly being asked in the tech forum section. That way there would not be one post with all the info in there and it would be easier to find it. After all most new users are blind to the "Search" button or more likely if you type in "setup mail" into the search you end up with too many results. Keeping each Tip/Howto in a seperate sticky post would be nice.

Here is a check list for things to enable if you want to install a forum, content management system or web blog on your site.
MySQL needs to be enabled (pay for it or 350 posts in forum)
About the FIRST POST: Edit this to say that PHPbb runs with SQLite. It'll save some people, and maybe bring more of those "forum only" people to 110mb. And you may want to mention that you have to log into the 110mb database manager every 150 days. BTW, this is a great idea to have this topic. I wish it was around when I started.

OK, first post Is there any way to get the FTP in Microsoft Expression 2 working with 110mb? I have set the max number of concurrent connections in IE to 1, but I'm not sure if this just applies to HTTP? I managed to get half my site to upload (once) before it bombed out saying a directory did not exist (that does) that it had just copied files into. Usually Expression just keeps prompting me for a username/password, the error being you are not authorised to perform the current action. If I copy the files (drag and drop them onto the FTP server) in Expression it works OK, just publishing fails I'd like to get Publishing working as my folder structure contains sub-sites and lots of source files that I do not want copying to the FTP server - and Expression strips all the guff out of the HTML on publishing. I'm guessing this is the same problem most newbies seem to have of 110mb only allowing single sessions? Thanks for any suggestions. Mark

Mark Well I've been using MS Expression for while on my site without any problems at all... The trouble you will have though is that the concurrent connection limit of 50 users connected at once (I think it's still 50) - Once you hit this limit MS Expression will throw an error about your password being incorrect or unable to connect.. it doesn't have a retry function (as it uses IE's FTP system) and cannot report the proper error, server full, in this case. Remember 110mb does not have Frontpage extensions installed so trying to publish with MS Expression will not work correctly. Use FTP to publish. that works fine (apart from when the server is busy).

I just tried to follow the instructions - after dowloading the FileZilla and tried to make the entries same as in the screen following the instructions: ===================================== Click "Save and Exit" at the bottom of the window.
Now you need to make TWO minor changes to the settings... Click "Edit"... then "Settings" and in the resultant window go to "File Transfer Settings" and UNTICK the box marked "Use multiple connections..." ================================ 1) I could not find the "Save and Exit" at the bottom of the window. Even the picture given does not have it. Where is this button/option ?
2) Also under 'Edit' then 'Settings', I could not find 'File Transfer Settings" or the box marked "Use multiple connections...."
Please help !
