If you type in a wrong path to something, the header for that file will be 302 (OK) and not 404 (Not Found) which is a little bit misconceiving if your trying to find out why something is not working  undecided

Well, shouldn't it be 404. I never heard of a 302 error page.

Yes, your correct

Quote
this is the most popular redirect code[citation needed], but also an example of industrial practice contradicting the standard. HTTP/1.0 specification (RFC 1945 ) required the client to perform a temporary redirect (the original describing phrase was "Moved Temporarily"), but popular browsers implemented it as a 303 See Other. Therefore, HTTP/1.1 added status codes 303 and 307 to distinguish between the two behaviours. However, the majority of Web applications and frameworks still use the 302 status code as if it were the 303.

Would be usefull, however as 110mb gets probably a lot for the redirections from "404" (quotes needed) to advertisers - I guess this won't change.
Maybe they can consider this when the forced ads on users pages comes, but personally I doubt.

At the moment the only way to achieve this is to buy the .htaccess upgrade.
