Is there an upgrade that just adds POP mail? I have a domain pointed at my site, and i want to have 1-2 email addresses [at]@mydomain.com. I see that its included in the full upgrade package, but i dont really need anything else from the upgrades other than e-mail. Is there a specific package which only adds e-mail? Or even just e-mail forwarding?

do-able?

Thanks!

110mb.com does not offer POP mail accounts.  You can sign up for Google Apps or Windows Live Domains which are both free, that well give you an ***@yourdomain.tld.

The fsockopen() upgrade is for web apps to sent emails to your visitors.  But you have to sign up for another email service called unlimitedmail.org

yes!
after pointing to the everydns nameservers from 110mb,
don't use 110mb nameservers.
In the everydns control panel,
create 'A' records instead ,for yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com
the A record will have to point to the IP address of your 110mb box

Ok,

I think i kindof get it

I signed up for easydns

I pointed the NS with registrar to easydns NS

domain doctor says i'm on box13 (64.191.114.150)

but right now easydns says
Current Records:  Host Type Value MX TTL Delete
absolutehid.ca A 64.195.235.119  3600 [delete]
www.absolutehid.ca CNAME parked.everydns.net  3600 [delete]

Should i delete both of those? And make the two "A" records pointing to 64.191.114.150? or should it be 64.191.114.149?(look below)

[[box13.110mb.com = 64.191.114.149]]  -> from linked post above.
[[accounts on box13 = 64.191.114.150]]

Thanks a lot for your help, all of you guys:D

Did you even read my post.

The reason why unlimitedmail.org was posted is due to the fact that he/she wants POP mail which is fsockopen() enabled and I explained that you cant use Google Apps or Windows Live Custom Domains for that.  Yes the OP wanted an **@yourdomain.tld

Also I did also post about Google Apps and Windows Live Custom Domains that are free

Usually anything to do with editing MX records for email happen within a few minutes to hours.  Well when I sent up a account with Google Apps and then when I decided to more to Windows Live Custom Domains.  It can take the full 72 hours.

To test it send a email from a standard hotmail account to your Google Apps and it should get through, then sent an email back, that way you know its fully working.

With fsockopen() you can send emails with your PHP scripts by connecting with any SMTP server - it can be unlimitedmail.org, gmail.com or any other mail service that offer sending mails with SMTP server.

With using Google Apps he can not only send mails from his PHP scripts with using fsockopen() and Gmail SMTP server, but also receive mails to whateveraddresshewant [at] hisdomain.tld

Yeah I know that, I think I gived the OP information that is confusing since he only asked for a POP email address but this allows the OP to know that fsockopen() can do this.

He ask for a specific email address - "have 1-2 email addresses [at]mydomain.com" - that (for free) can give him only Google Apps or Windows Live Custom Domains (AFAIK). For pay I am sure that there is more options. But all of them are usually not better than GMail.

I think you missing what I posted

what's funny is, when i was like 16 (5 years abo shocked) i spent the whole summer learning HTML coding and all that, and now i dont remember anything.

gotta hit the books and get a index.html up (lying, obviously gonna use software)

I just changed the nameservers to everydns this morning, my domain (www.absolutehid.ca) isn't pointed at everydns.net yet, so any changes that i made on there wont take effect until the nameservers update.

although, you guys definatly know better than i do.

(i will tag this thread [resolved] once everything works, which i think it will if i just wait a couple more hours)

Once again,
thanks guys.

Yes, that's why I delete my post, but you read it before (and quote).
The only thing is:

(...) But you have to sign up for another email service called unlimitedmail.org (...)
OR any other mail service that offer sending mails trough SMTP server. It can be unlimitedmail.org, gmail.com, yahoo or any other. Smiley So inverted was right about that "unlimitedmail.org is not necessary". Smiley

i just meant to say that if the OP needed only a few email accounts, unlimitedmail wasn't necessary, google apps was sufficient, like Piotr GRD said.
Didn't know people at 110mb are so sensitive...
i didn't mean to 'belittle' you!
no offence, just friends okay?

You have already your own index page, so your account will be not cancelled because of having no home page. Of course remember to log in into control panel minimum once for 150 days and your account will be not cancelled for sure.

And yes, 110mb forum is one and only. Smiley

Piotr, you can to offer the best solutions for this. For instance: i make a contact form and inside this form i only place my email. So i need to add any security code for my contact form. if OK, you can to offer the AJAX solution for this.
