Is the problem with the 110mb name servers?
Or is it something else I can do to fix the problem?

Yes, this is problem with 110mb nameservers. And you can wait until admins will fix it, or do what you can read in Busman's posts in this topic. (of course instead of GoDaddy apply it to your domain registrar's or any other DNS services that you choose).

Thanks Piotr and Busman, I've changed the A records to the pinged IP, and works fine now.

I knew using IPs instead of 110mb's DNS would pay off one day. Actually I didn't, who would have thought? Anyway, I always see on those 110mb server status things DNS status, but I've never actually seen a problem with them.

@galatians5one :
You don't need to, but you have the option.
GoDaddy's NS are probably much more resilient than 110mb's.
Revert your domain to use GoDaddy's NS, then setup 'A' records for yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com pointing to the IP* of your box.
On GoDaddy, domain and www are abbreviated to @ and www, just to confuse the issue.
Dammit. PG types faster.
* Get the IP by 'pinging' your 110mb subdomain name, or use Lesley's system: http://110ss.lesley.uni.cc/. The IPs shown on your 110mb control panel are wrong.
I confess that this is totally confusing to me. Could it be my "senior" brain? Anyway, I went to godaddy's page for managing domains and put in NS1.110MB.COM and NS2.110MB.COM again and clicked "ok." Is this what I need to do to fix the problem, or am I way off base. I have no idea what "A" records are, or where to imput www.mydomain.com, or mydomain.com, or where imput the ip for my box. Could someone please explain these things to me. Thanks.

Ok, I notice on the personal profile page where you add an extra domain, it is saying we need to have HTACCESS SUPPORT activated.
I added my extra domains before that notice was there, and it they were working on all my sites, and I do not have HTACCESS SUPPORT activated.
Is the fact that I don't have it activated be the reason why my extra domains no longer work? And if this is so, do I now need to purchace HTACCESS SUPPORT, and if I do will my extra domains then work?
Or is it, as I suspect upon reading the instructions closer, that if I have purchased HTACCESS SUPPORT for my 110mb subdomain and want it to work on my extra domain I need to let administration know?

No, you don't need .htaccess for using your own domain. That note mean that if you have .htaccess upgrade and you change or add new extra domain after activating .htaccess, you have to (by sending support ticket) ask for "re-activate" .htaccess functionality on that newly added/changed domain. And no, changing 110mb nameservers into 110mb namservers will not change anything. I don't know GoDaddy's CP, but you have to find an option to change back the nameservers to the GoDaddy's default nameservers (so you will not use ns1.110mb.com etc., but GoDaddy's nameservers). Then try to find a place where you can manage A/CNAME/MX etc. records, and create two A records. @ A IPofYOUR110msubdomain www A IPofYOUR110msubdomainYou can also do not change anything and just wait until admins will fix 110mb nameservers. But if you change it into GoDaddy's nameservers and create that A records you will be independent of any possible future failures of 110mb nameservers. edit: Here you have "how to" for GoDaddy. http://www.110mb.com/forum/how-to-using-a-godaddy-domain-name-with-your-free-110mb-hosting-t29380.0.html

Pilot GRD, thanks for redirecting me to the right forum. While I was posting this reply, my extra domain (kiel814.com.ar) started working again. I hope this is permanent , as I used my site as a letter of introduction to a company...

I do have one question. In "CNAMES (Aliases)" do I put the name I purchased from godaddy, or do I put my 110mb subdomain. Thanks.

I thought I followed the guide, and reset my account to godaddy's nameservers, but now my extra domain simply comes up as parked at godaddy.
Did I do something wrong, or does it just take a while for this to work?

For the first - you have answer at that second topic/tutorial
For the second - if you correctly delete all the other A and CNAME records and keep only those 2 from tutorial it will work. But be prepared for propagation delay - each change of nameservers need time to propagate all around the world.

I can not confirm this, socalsubbuteo Either yours or others domains are not accessible for me. There is still no records about your or others domains on ns1/ns2/ns3.110mb.com, only on ns4.110mb.com

socalsubbuteo marked this topic resolved, but it's not. Can someone bring admins attention on it? Or at least confirm that they know about this?
@aed - yes, it's the problem on 110mb nameservers - they are up, but there is no answer from them when asking about extra domains.
@greenworldresourceexchange You can always use some other DNS host - find a Busman's post in this topic about them with link to the list of free DNS hosts.

Would this be the same issue as before when extra domains needed to be removed and then added again to the CP?
