I've recently got an e-mail from uploadingit.com admin.

Quote
Dear All UploadingIT.com Users,

UploadingIT.com is closing down. This has nothing to do with anything that we did or the members did. It is all because of value click media our advertiser. They are calming that there was fraud on the site ( And I know there wasn't). They have taken back all payments for running ads from November, and December leaving us dry. They are also refusing to tell us what the specific reason is (which is illegal). We are trying to fight it, But for now the best thing to do is close the site down.

For those of you that like Technology we have started up a tech news/community site called http://365-tech.com

Thank You for your support over the past 2 years, and your continued support of http://365-tech.com

Hope to see you all there.

Thank You All Once Again
Bye from UploadingIT.com

I really feel sorry about that, it was the greatest free file hosting service on the world, I hope I will find another one, which is as reliable as uploadingit was.

Hi there I'm sort of useless at this but can someone please help me find a file host...uploadingit died on all of us and now I desperately need to quickly find another one.

My requirements are:
hotlinking
as much bandwidth as possible
file manager
easy to upload

the requirements are ranked in order of importance. It's ok if the last two are not met, the fist two are necessary.

If anyone has time to help me find one I would really appreciate it!!!

Yeah, had the same problem. Well I host most of my mp3 files for direct streaming on my site @ uploadingit.com . But since they are dead now (without any warning at all) now I'm looking for another filehoster.

I recently signed up for boxstr since many recommended that (i think it may be faster than uploadingit.com so thanks for the recommendation) but the problem is it's only 1GB per day bandwidth. I get thousands of visitors per day and I usually host like 20 songs for streaming (it has to be direct linking for .mp3 files) on my site.

Calculating that is like 1000 x 20 x 5mb average per song means a lot of bandwidth is needed. Does anyone else know another file hoster that has:

direct linking to mp3s
lots and lots of bandwidth
and of course all for free

Ok, for now I'm using http://www.gigasize.com It's bandwidth is not per file but per user. So each user can download 200-250Mb every 8-10 hours (that's what they say; the meter resets) But I'm sure no-one is going to download 250MB in the one go haha!

Remember this is per user so you acn have infinite users download the same file as long as theyre all form different places and stuff.

Furthermore I'm also using Boxstr (man it's that freaking script again lolx) and 500MB a day is going to be alright for less popular files.

As for streaming, well, Gigasize is still good with that Duh but it's file manager is a bit stuffy, no folders...

thx for answering Smiley
I've been to see, but it seems we don't have any account so as to manage our files.
Isn't really there any equivalent (even if they only accept 100Mo that's enough for me) of uploadingit?

thx for answering grin

Nice list, comprehensive and thorough.

I like http://www.filenanny.com they have reasonable limits and it's fast. Their support team is also on the ball.

http://www.bigeasyshare.com is a good one if you just want to upload a file really quick and e-mail it to someone.

Thanks for the list!

Hi , & thanks for this great topic here ,
i have tested 75 of the sites bot none gave me the thing i really need , my most suitables are uploadingIT which is now dead , next BOXStr,next Gigacities, and last allmyfiles. i told these as an example so you can think of what i need ...

I need a free file hosting account ( not a 1 click file hosting ) having the following features ,
I dont want to pay because 1- i dont want my money + files go away like uploadingit.com , 2- i dont want to pay for a bandwidth that i dont use and i want it for my friend who use my files  shocked

the first 4 are the key features that i need ...

1- being free
2- having a control panel like the thing boxstr and uploading it have ,( not being a 1click file hosting ) (being user friendly ) ( showing complete details ) ( having folder view)
3- having lots of bandwidth ( more than daily 1 gb of boxstr )
4- letting hot direct linking - No captcha code , ads , or download waitng time ( like boxstr )

5- letting people use download manager ( parallel upload - download )
6- having upload progress bar and will be best if upload-resume support ( detailed upload progress)
7- diskspace-the more the best
8- # of file types - # of folders, ( or unlimited like boxstr ) ( i need it to upload software not music or video )
9- do not delete my files after 30 60 90 days of being unused ( files stay for ever )
10- trasfer rate -transfer speed as they wish
11- having a url uploader if possible...

if there is any site capable of these ( which i dont think !!! ) let me know ... huh

i dont know if this is illegal ? if so let me know to delete it ...
my email : lazer414[ @ ] yahoo.com

Me too recently found out that uploadingit and eggdisk are gone.
even mydatabus changes to paid one...

How about http://skydrive.live.com/ by Windows storage, you need a hotmail/live account by the way.
