i use Filehippo for downloading Crap Cleaner now known as CCleaner but i noticed recently that the site has a utility that will scan your computer for many programs and drivers. the program itself is very small and fast. It will show you all available updates for your software on one page and you can download new versions from that single page. I like this app as it also can scan on startup and alert you of updates of programs during your windows start up.

I have a better idea, which would not depend on Filehippo if enough people use it. After the software scans your computer, it uploads a list of installed software and versions (anonymously, of course). The server checks its database of software, inserting new software if necessary and updating the latest version seen. The server then responds with a list of software that need updating. Crowdsourcing ftw Duh

Does it really? I was under the impression that filehippo works only with software hosted with filehippo.

oh ya it does only work on what they host. but they host a crapload of stuff. this program reminds me of a cool app back in the 90s called oilchange. what site were you thinking of? cuz if there is something thats better then you should let people know about it. i just found the filehippo app easy and fast. and i dont know of any others that do the same or more.

We can easily make one that does more, based on my description. We just need lots of people to use it.
