Haha, now I regret not requesting one. Well, to be honest wavesandbox.com users seem like second class citizens. People on wavesandbox.com develop apps for a new service, and yet they won't let us talk with the 'normal' googlewave.com people. I just got added to the sandbox today, I don't get an invite to the new server. Accounts were only given to sandbox members before 30th September as a goodwill gesture. Considering that sandbox users were automatically invited to the beta server, not really... I'm pimpin' both Sandbox users also get all the shiny new stuff, whether it's a good thing or not.

So... request a beta account? You get what you ask for, really. I wasn't expecting a beta account, so I asked for it too and got invited twice.

I assumed that the developer preview would be the same as the main preview + the developer extras. To me, that makes more sense than two different systems.

Does it really? The public server is for wimps, and the sandbox contains all the shiny new stuff that wimps don't like to see. It makes a lot of sense to relegate alpha-quality code to a separate host rather than letting it contaminate the public host. Speaking of which, the sandbox and public hosts both have developer tools. I'd recommend playing in the sandbox if you prefer bleeding-edge stuff. Add me in the sandbox if you want; same username.

@darrenbeige: I'ma sign on to add you back; I haven't been logging onto Wave that much recently; and I'm clean out of nominations, or I'd started nominating peepz here. Apparently sandbox users after the magical day dont get invited to the real wave Well that sucks. Yeah, it does.

When did you gain access to the sandbox? After September 30th? BTW, I'm working an acronym-expander robot.

Does that mean integration with normal beta users?

I confirmed this with a friend of mine on the preview server. You may add @googlewave.com to your contacts but it will not allow for communication, as the Wave build on wave.google.com does not have federation installed.
The general consensus from people is that federation between googlewave.com and wavesandbox.com will eventually come to light, but not until federation on wavesandbox.com has been fully tested with independent servers.

Indeed. I don't think the feature's quite ready for general consumption yet, but it'd be useful.
