I know for sure that the Skype Voucher thing is given when you never owned skypeout, and you use skype to skype a lot. But this? I don't know.
Do you think you said "skype" enough in that sentence?  cheesy

yay @ my google wave sandbox account.

Heh, nice job getting one. I'm currently reading a 2000 page book about JavaScript, XML, and PHP, so I can make some Google Wave applications. Small print too. sad

There needs to be a Wave client for Android. Or better... mobile applications that use the Wave API.

Heh, perhaps. I'm just working on trying to get to know many web languages better, because I'm good with developing desktop applications (I would like to learn C++ though...), so I need to touch up on my web skills too. smiley

Well, antimatter and I were discussing, Python is much like Visual Basic, but the thing is, I'm addicted to going in and organizing my components visually, and then coding them. That's what I like about Visual Basic, you design your layouts, go in, and code them. Maybe Visual C++... rolleyes

I have a 350page book on JavaScript (2005) that I'm trying to get through. It's called DOM Scripting or something like it.

I'm gonna load that up on a sony reader once the Touch Edition comes out at the end of this month.

I don't know why people read these massive books - I'm very familiar with all those languages manic, but learnt from trying and looking at other's code, it's a much better way to learn (more permanent), and less painful! For me at least, my javascript and xml (well, xul, but it's close), was adequate to make a very useful Firefox extension (don't ask, was private, now deleted Duh).

I agree on the active learning strategy. People are different though. I think reading this not so heavy, beginner level, relatively short JavaScript book is a good start.

It works in the android browser though.

It does. However, most Android applications are not browser-based but there are many that could benefit from the Wave service.

I got my Google Wave account a few days ago. I think the idea is great, but right now it runs really slow for me. I'm kind of disappointed.  sad
