I've been trying to install Drupal from the One Click Application Installer. I tried multiple times, and always get the following error message. I see in the forums that others have had this same error many months ago, but the responses to those postings didn't help me resolve the error. Here's the error:

"We were unable to lock a test table on your MySQL database server. We tried locking a table with the command LOCK TABLES drupal_install_test WRITE and MySQL reported the following error: Access denied for user 'schleiff_db'@'localhost' to database 'schleiff_db'."

Also, each time I tried, the number of remaining One Click Applications was decremented, even though I haven't successfully installed anything.

I think you may have missed something when you created your database. Did you remember to do step 3 Assign Privileges Between Them: in your database setup page? If you didn't click the "Assign Privileges to Each Other Now!", this will be the cause of your problem.

And the installer doesn't care whether you completed the setup process or not, it just uses one of your installs each time you tell it to install.

I once had a hard drive clunk-clicking
Strange noises, weird sounds and tick-ticking
I thought I would wait
And procrastinate...
But now all my data is missing

You can always return to the setup script, which is copied into your account by the application installer.
