seriously I think we need to implement a support request template(SRT)for the technical discussions forum...

somethings like
--------------------------------------------
Your site's URL:
Exact link to problem's page(if applicable):
When the problem started:
Recent changes made:
-------------------------------------------
Issue explained:

What do you guys think?

I mean how many times do people ask why their site is loading slowly only to find out later on they are using www
or how many times people how an error and they just paste the error to the post and want us to somehow figure it out, it isn't like we're psyhic.

I agree that a basic template would be a great idea.
But what if the problem isnt that you are getting an error?
What if its which would be more efficient or is this possiable?

Just a thought. smiley

Then they can use a different template or just not use one. Templates are normally optional. It's just that a lot of people don't give links to their site. And some people, even when asked, don't give the error message.

Myle's template idea looks pretty good. The actual error itself is probably more important than what caused it, and in the majority of cases can be fixed purely by just what the error was. :-O

For that: only a ticket support system is practical.

Because (1) stickies don't get read, (2) there'll never be shortage of new noobs stating their problem, but not their site.  wink

That's true. But if we present it in a way that shows new members that it's to their advantage to follow the guidelines, there would be more readers. Hence, the title of the thread ;p

However, it's far from foolproof, and there're too many fools out there Duh
