most forums require somewhere to store the post and config data, which is the database, so you won't find many which don't require a database

Its Perl not Pearl :-P And I think your going to have to get either a remotely hosted forum or ikonboard I have Searched for FLat File Forums and all kinds of stuff... It turned up results but the sites no longer exist I guess no one needed flat file forums as they could get a remote DB, free hosting for forums or just go to mysql.com and download it and install it lol.

You are looking for an older PHP Forum package, one written before MySQL became available on Windows. hunt around, you will find one somewhere, maybe include a year while searching

You can get an external database Just Google it or you can post 350 times(No Spamming or asking questions they have to help others) and apply to get it enabled free. Oh I found a Flat File Forum! http://www.liteboards.com/ but as someone said where i got it from(How To Turtorials board) Flat File Forums and stuff are good for smaller sites

There are also other services that just hosts forum boards for you. You can just link it from your site or possibly just their forum hosting if a forum is all that you need. Of course you won't get the flexibility and access as you would if you have a database and hosting on 110mb. Just got to think of the tradeoffs

here's my opinion - you better make enough posts or pay for MySQL, because the best forums use DB or at least Perl. I theng the best forum is SimpleMachinesForum (smf). I use it for a long time and it's just great. It would be better for you to use smf
