The question is what is the answer.

I think users can just use google translator instead to create one forum for each language?
I have the same opinion.
And just a question: "Who should manage all those different forums?"

In doubt, the witch.

but then just the board is translated  and not the posts and threads you write . its about people getting support on they own language not just changing board languaae
I have to agree with you if only the board panel is translated than its not much of a point all thread you would still need to translate! If all the thread input on the forum would automatically be translate that would be handy for some members!

Hello
What about creating in the 110mb's forums sections for foreign language speaking people?
Lot's of people from around the globe use 110mb, and that may be a good idea, for example a forum for spanish speaking people. People who uses the service but doesn't speak english may find it useful.
I just registered on your forum to try but where is your unregister option? I may not found it, Please let me Know how to unregister!

yeh fix it,
so far it has a bunch of needless boards
all it needs are the origional 110mb boards
but instead each subcatagory would be an individual language.

also, its never to late to change to smf,

Her is a temporary option for non English members

Perfect! for me; found it! This is what I use to translate a page! works with all Browsers! Make a Butten and finish! Will not be perfect but Helps!

Click on the image ore this Link:http://translate.google.com/translate_buttons?hl=en

Second option: But I like the first one more convenient!

This also good just drop the URL into the tool and pick the languish you like!

no mario - google translator is balls and never works with technical things.

it would be much better if it was in the other members actual words
not a stupid translation.
also everybody has heard of google transalator already
nobody thinks its any good thats why a seperate foriegn language forum is the better option.

guess it won't be able to translate forum as not much members type perfect english  afro

but the only thing that could be translated are the names of buttons etc... like on the simplemachines community

support in other languages would also require mods that can speak these languages..

Yes! You maybe right in some way! But it is a Help for the moment, if anyone has problems to understand the forum!
In respect of an technical languish, there is only one and that is my home languish German!(Would you agree?)

but why start off doing it all wrong from the beginning?

why dont we just set it up with a german section, french section, spanish etc...?
otherwise we might as well just not have a foriegn section at all if its just going to be in english then translated.

To the person sending PM's. I wont embarrass you by naming you here.

I am sure that everyone concerned has read your posts in this thread. If you feel that your post has not been answered or you would like someone to comment further on your posts, then I suggest you ask here in the thread. Sending PM's to try and rally support for your opinion is not the proper way to do things.

@ Herbal, can you Pm me the user that is sending out PM's.

People, before we are making any translation support forum, please, wait for Andre to agree. I don't want you guys making a extended forum and Andre says "no". Just wait and then make plans/give tips.

Google translator may be used but I think there must be anyway to include translation function in this SMF forum itself, I don't know much about SMF script so can't say how its done but it can be.
Well... that is probably a good idea to achieve that. (Hopefully Google creates an API for the translation thing, and makes translation of one's own site more integrated).

By the way argon, that is a very nice idea (making 110mb even more international-like Smiley).

For now you can use translator at: http://babelfish.altavista.com/

But sure. Will look into this. Although it'll pretty much do same job as Google or Atlavista translator.

The problem is that all these translators translate incorrectly. One needs to correct a translation manually then. For example if I take an article from the “Reuters” in order to put it onto my page, I am compelled to correct the translation manually, because the automatic translator gives a real nonsense.  It looks like no one web translator can translate properly. sad

Well, If an ideal automatic translator could have been created once, there will be no need in human translators. grin

So, what can and must be done?

1. Tecnical support on host unrelated topics on local language - easy to manage.
I think here are much people with proper knowledge and experience, who can spend a little time by helping their compatriots.

It can be managed like we with Argon done. (Ðóññêèå çàéäèòå - çà÷åì ìó÷àòüñÿ è ïèñàòü íà àíãëèéñêîì, ïîæíî ïî ðóññêè. ×åì áîëüøå íàñ, òåì êà÷åñòâåííåå ïîìîùü.)

Especially if such forums will be considered by our authorityes as a part of an official - it will be more appealing to use them.

2. Host related problems - not so much, most of them coincide with other users and are allready discussed on this forum - Just somebody can look througth...

3. Translating user interface - maybe just create a lang file, like in most web scripts?

If the authorities want, we can do everything (for nothing of cource evil)

Most auto-translaters translates English into russian OWFULLY.
We have 6 cases and lots of meanings... It's easer to read in inglish, than in translated russian...

I would suggest a multi language FAQ instead of a forum.

FAQ can cover only 0.1% of possible questions.
Forums is more important - you cant disagree.
FAQ are frequently ask questions in a forum.

But, of cource, FAQ must be translated too, if organized.
