I purchased my extra domain from GoDaddy.  What is the best way to set up the name servers?  Is it better to rely on the 110mb name servers, using the GoDaddy Domain Manager to point to my domain at the two 110mb name servers (ns1.110mb.com and ns2.110mb.com)?  Or is it better for my domain to rely on GoDaddy's nameservers, using the GoDaddy domain manager's "Total DNS" control panel tool to point an A record at the IP address for my website at 110mb?

Which one will result in my web page loading faster?

Do I run a risk of 110mb changing my IP address without me knowing about it?

Page load faster?... Probably the same in both cases.

With using 110mb nameservers you have no any control of any DNS records - you can not control any A, CNAME, MX records.
With using GoDaddy's nameservers you have full control over it.

Changes of IPs are very rare. Very. If you'll look at this forum from time to time you will notice everything. Or just ping your 110mb subdomain.

Oh! Be aware that addresses with-www are loading slower at 110mb, without www faster, so try to advertise your website address without www (as 110mb using internal proxy to handle www subdomain).

What IP address do I put in the A record -- the IP for my site or something else on 110mb?

I believe the IP address of my website on 110mb is 64.191.15.246 but if I go to that address using my browser I get the 110mb 404.  Should I put that address in the A record, or something else?

Thanks....

@whatacoolarea: You're on shared hosting, not dedicated, so you need both hostname and IP address to locate a website. And yes, your A record would be the IP address of the server your website is hosted on.

Add your extra domain via the 110mb control panel.

This is what I have:

A record @ points to 64.191.15.246
CNAME record www points to @
Extra domain is set up in 110mb account manager

My website comes up fine with the extra domain.

However, when I check the domain with this tool:   http://www.110mb.com/dig.php
It show the A record is fine, the NS (DNS) is fine and the two 110mb servers NS2 and NS 4 are fine
But I get SERVFAIL on the 110mb servers NS1 and NS3

Do I need to do anything to fix this, or will it fix itself as things propagate?
