I don't know, I use editDNS.

if your I address changes dynamically, then it needs to update itself on what your current IP address is, so, yeah you need to be connected to the internet for your pc to be accessed and updated

I use co.nr for my dynamic ip address.

But hate it when the power goes in my house ( twice a week )

It does not put ads on your site. There are ads in the DNS control Panel.
