I already did the transferring of my domain names.  Now I'm facing a new problem.  I've worked with ftp before in uploading my website information and never had problems.  Now, however, when I got to ftp to upload my stuff (using the format ftp://myregisteredname.110mb.com), it comes up that internet explorer cannot display this web page.
Now I only switched the domains today from godaddy, so does this just take time?

Try going to file > login as, type in your user and pass there, and it will work without a problem hopefully. Or, you can use Filezilla, which is the ftp program that I use.

I would, but it won't let me even do that.  It just says "cannot display web page."  So I decided to upload all my info to the control panel on here, but I'm still having problems. I get "403 error code."

On top of that, my domain from godaddy hasn't transferred over yet.

I apologize, I'm definitely a newbie and everything I've learned I've taught myself (including flash).  Normally, however, I can dump everything into ftp and it runs well.

Another problem that might be happening, as well, is that under my control panel it says "no directories."  Any idea what that's about?

why don't you use an FTP client instead of Internet Explorer?

Try CuteFTP or FTP Lite. I also have some ftp servers that IE refuses to connect to...

Yeah, definitely stop using Internet Explorer, both OPERA or FireFox are superior browsers,

then get an an FTP client like Filezilla, it works great and it is free.

If your control panel says "no directories", that means that you have no folders in your website.

(every page and file you have uploaded is in the root of your domain)

Getting about the same digitalfxphotography.  I made a new account.  Transferred domain(GoDaddy registered).  I can upload a few files at a time in file manager, but cannot gain FTP access through filzilla(gettings unable to connect.  My other site FTP connections work fine) or through my website publisher program Ewisoft.  I also can't build a basic website using the Site builder... I get to step two.. don't change the login info, as it say in the directions, and I get Warning!
Username or Password incorrect.

Like you said, maybe due to new account.  I'll check again after Turkey day if I can pull up to the keyboard.

Well, my domain was finally transferred today.  I can type in my domain(GoDaddy registered) and it works fine.  Still quite a quandary on the FTP.  I followed directions in forums on setting up Filezilla3.. upgraded to Filezilla 3.1.5.1.  My other site FTP connections work fine) I can use website publisher program Ewisoft to update other sites but not this one.  Site builder isn't working... I get to step two.. don't change the login info, as it say in the directions, and I get Warning!
Username or Password incorrect.  I tried killing all firewall/antivirus settings and using a dialup connection.  Seems the only way to add files is through file manager.  NOT doing 3 files at a time.

I'm assigned to box: 16
FTP Login Info:
   Server: site.110mb.com
   Username: username
Password: *same as your CP pass*

attempted using login   site.110mb.com  box16.110mb.com  box16.site.110mb.com site.box16.110mb.com  110mb.com
For the login my site says to use, i set for 45 second delay and retry 55 times.  Nada...

In all, either my ftp pass isn't same as account or FTP aint workin on this site.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I'm still dinkin around trying to figure this thing out.  I definitely don't want to use my account manager to upload everything considering my page was created with flash and I have a TON of things to upload, which would take a lot of time...

I will, however, try the other sites suggested and see where things go... Thanks for the help - I'll post back later on results.

**To the other members having the same info:  Yes, that's pretty strange that ftp doesn't work for this host.... weird.  I found that a very convenient way to load my information... Anyway, can't complain too much considering this is free for me. Smiley

@ olshanks & digitalfxphotography

Here is my solution for using FTP (filezilla)

When you select your files, don't select [upload], instead select [add files to queue]
When you have added all the files you want to upload, click "disconnect from server"
Then click "Start processing the Queue"

NOTE: You MUST have your preferences set to allow ONLY 1 simultaneous transfer

@ digitalfxphotography

If you have a "ton" of files to upload, just zip them and upload the zip file
(be sure NOT to use a password), then go to file manager and "uncompress"
