HELP! I'm trying to upload my website with FTP client FileZilla. I kept getting a lot of "421 Too many connections (1) from this IP" errors, but eventually somehow the files were uploaded. My problem though, is that my site is not online??? Why after uploading my website to FTP is it not online? I just get the "Account Successfully Created" page.

I guess it prolly didn't overwrite because it didn't ask me... but now I can't connect to FTP at all. I'm using proper login and pass which just worked but gave me a lot of those errors i mentioned above, now nothing (Connection times out). Any suggestions on connecting with reliability through FTP so I can try deleting the index.htm and uploading mine? Thanks for your immediately help, that is awesome

you have just registered your site right? what errors are given when you can't connect through FTP? do you still get "error 421..."? your server is probably down: http://www.110mb.com/forum/admin-multiple-boxes-down-t35999.0.html

Yeah I just moved from Tripod not even an hour ago. I hope this doesn't happen often. That 421 error says too many connections from my IP. I get TONS of them (when servers are online), and eventually my uploads will squeeze through here and there. Ok, Servers back up, and every time I try to upload I get this annoying error 421 Too many connections (1) from this IP. How do I fix this? OK, My website now works correctly and everything, but I've got to get rid of that 421 error. It's preventing me from updating my website. only aout 10% of the time will it give up and connect. I even set FileZilla to max of 1 connection, but same thing. Thanks tallfreek for the tip on index.html not being replaced, that's what got my site working. I'll just manage my site from the web based file manager until I can figure out how to use an FTP client without exceeding the connection limit... which appears to be only 1 connection. Thanks again!

you can only connect with 1 connection, i'm not sure where but i used to get that error nonstop too. it was a simple setting in filezilla somewhere that limited the connections and it made life easy when connecting to 110mb. i'll see if i can find it. i know it works fine default settings, at least it used to.
if your a firefox user, try using FireFTP. it works very nicely.

Finally, I found it. There was more than setting which confused me. FileZilla transfer setting "Maximum simultaneous transfers" needed to be set to 1. I though I was good with "Limit for concurrent uploads" set to 1, but obviously not. So, with FileZilla set to 1 max simultanous transfers everything works perfectly. Many thanks for your help
