hmmm i needed to extend MS access for a little wile longer so i got bored and did a google search for i think MS office 2007 key or something like that

any case i found a youtube video with a working key but after this semester (if i pass access) i will be uninstalling 07 and continue with OO.o
but next to that point i find this kinda funny how you can bend the law into what you want it to be

During my search for the answer i bumped into this site:
http://opensourcerules.info/cdkey.html now i read most of the page but what i found funny was a page leading from it:
http://brian.carr.name/mscompln.htm and his response
http://brian.carr.name/msrespnd.htmHow stupid is MS? very

according to this guy as he said:
My own review of the relevant literature says that numbers and words
can not be copyrighted; hence it is not possible to copyright serrial
numbers or product keys. While your letter borrows terminology from
the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, it does not meet the criteria
specified in that act for 'prohibited' behaviour
1) The CD keys listed on that page are not 'technology, product, service,
device, component, or part thereof'. It is simply advice on how to
reinstall legally purchased software.
2) Further, this advice is not 'marketed by that person (myself) or another
acting in concert with that person' as the advice is freely given
without any remunerative exchange.
3) The Digital Millenium Copyright Act specifically states that section
shall not 'enlarge or diminish any rights of free speech or the press for
activities using consumer electronics, telecommunications, or computing
products'.
now what i under stand of this is that they can not copyright serials unless in their database (prior to selling) so if some one actually had a working serial program for 07 office (what ever version) and can randomly create "good" serials which the application will except MS can not do anything to them or the users, as long as the software was legally received (hence downloaded or originally bought from a authorized place), but if a serial is in their database and has limited amount of use and lets say about 20. that end user could distro the 20 serials over a torrent even or on youtube but the minute the 20 are taken no one else can use them if over 20 people use them (very hard to do if not impossible) then the original buyer can get in trouble. now if the end user buys like 1000 serials then distro them MS still cant do anything... only true way MS can legally do something is if you alter the program to gain access... and entering a few digits into a verification box and getting accepted is not altering the code

So the only way MS can legally go after the serials which are fake is if they have a "no acceptance clause" which is basically if it is not in the database you dont get it... but even then they cant as who says that serial you did not just buy and waiting for it to be put in?
but this smart ass found a very helpful loophole for me till im done school

or can get a job and buy the student priced one (which is like 95% off or something like that)
Note: If MS was to give me any issues i would say "Hey look i bought teacher and student and i needed access for school it is not my fault you did not include that when you know STUDENTS use access, now if you want me to pay for it forget it how ever if you send me a access software disc (or key) and allow me to add it to my student and teacher 07 (which has one more use) i will be willing to uninstall the current version upon receiving the package."
Note 2: technically going based on this website their is no such crime to post serials online just software, so as long as i downloaded the software from a certified place i should be ok. but any hassle i will start bargaining as spending hundreds of dollars to get a app just to use once is stupid and so is the silly 60 day trial(i needed 90). Key gen apps are illegal but if your able to get a working serial from it then the company cant do anything as it is a flaw in their programing and setup which lead to you being able to activate it with a free key.
NO FLAM WAR ABOUT HOW ILLEGAL THIS IS AS WHAT I HAVE DONE IS ILLEGAL YES BUT ALSO NOT ILLEGAL IN THE WAY MS CANT OWN SERIALS! AND I DOWNLOADED THE SOFTWARE (from their site) AND REGISTERED IT TO MS WITH THE SERIAL FOUND ON YOUTUBE NOT A KEYGEN. Now is it my fault if that key was fake and they accepted it? no... it is not, it is my fault how ever putting in the key when i knew it was not mine but i do not know if it is fake or not. BUT the key was for open view including the eyes of MS and so they can not hold me or the user responsible if anything they can only request google/youtube to remove the videos on how to get it free (including messing with the registry which BTW does not work

) as their is little way they can own a key
