Anyone have some suggestions for me on a good desktop recorder, I've tried a few and all laggggg.... Any that record smoothly and exactly as I see it, so that watching the video would be as if I were doing it?

Just a note, I don't want to pay for one either.

You can try hypercam, but it'll put a little tag saying "unregistered". Just change the FPS and you're good. You can also get a camtasia trial.

If you're using KDE4/*nix, there's a bundled screen recorder plugin wink

I tried camtasia and it is even laggy than the previous one I tried camstudio.

I've seen some youtube videos where the cursor has a yellow circle around it and there doesn't seem to be any lag, do you know what that software is called by chance?

Why not? The resulting video should be viewable on all major platforms.

Maybe because he doesn't have a mac, and he wants to record PC only software.

I'm surprised nobody has recommended CamStudio. I've always used it for my screen captures, one of the best free ones out there!

Well then it would be wise to mention the desired platform smiley

evebn pc only is a wide platform

you have differ linux dustro's, Unix distro's solaris, reactos, different windows distro's and a ton more..... so mentioning OS would be a wise move

HyperCam isn't free, and really sucks. It's very glitchy.
