Has anyone got any good tips on google. How to get on search engines. Someone told me today that the 'alt' tag on pictures is an important feature. Just one little detail that google looks at. Its just a small sign of professionalism that helps boost your rating.

I also like to add the keywords in the title.

best way is to have your link put on really big websites. like for example, www.110mb.com

if you use your affiliate link and get enough people to register through you. you get a point. get enough points, your link is put on their website. that "this weeks hot site" thing on the right. as many times as google's spider comes though 110mb. your site will be indexed alot faster. and alot higher. because 110mb.com is ranked really high.

log in to your member control panel. and on the left it will be either the last or second to last icon. depends on if one click installer is on your site yet or not.  cool

it will say something about affiliates. it will have your link in there

The most important thing for Google is content. Make sure that you have a lot of (new) information on your website.
In addition try to get a lot of links. The number of websites referring to your site is rather important.
You may help google a little bit by adding a sitemap and submitting this to Google.

Get linked to, better without begging for it or doing it yourself.

Keep well formatted HTML (whitespace doesn't matter, validity, accessibility and code choice do).

Use a unique, easy to remember name.

Include some sort of mission statement, motto or simple description on the page that uses key words, to help users remember what your site was about in case they want to find you and run a search. They'll more than likely use your words, or search for features of your site using the same words you use to describe them.

Have a robots.txt file - I've heard it helps.

open a new notepad file and paste this

User-agent: *
Disallow:

and then save as robot.txt and put on your root, this should work to get the google spiders to put your site on search engines
