i disagree, if i get 500 unique visits from google, who just look at the page then go, it is 500 pageloads aswell
The bounce rate is rarely even close to that high (%100). If you just got it one day for some strange reason and than it went back to normal, your website wouldn't get kicked out.

I get about 300 unique IP's per day. 50% of them being real humans.. And I make enough of small ad's to buy 3 different paid hosting accounts...

I mainly stay here, because I like the community, and helping people out.. And so far, I haven't needed more features than all that I have.

The 500 unique IP's is hard to hit. Believe me, I have no shortage of traffic, and still haven't recorded that many yet. But of course I have a very low bounce rate, around 20% and most are bots on my IPs..

A tip, if you get close to 500, just deny most bots with Robots.txt, that should give you a few hundred leeway..

You can view my robots.txt file for an example...

http://d3xt3r.net/robots.txt

I suggest not going to files that are hidden. My security system may ban you.

But, you can learn more about robots.txt at http://robotstxt.org

Here is a example file that would ban all bots.. (That listened, anyhow.)

Code:
User-Agent: *
Disallow: /

Or to only allow Google...

Code:
User-Agent: *
Disallow: /

User-Agent: googlebot (I think this is the useragent, might wanna check on googles site)
Allow: /

Avoid using * within actual paths. Cause some don't abide by it. I found that out the hard way...

not all bots use that of course, the bad bots (like scrapers, email harvestors, etc) are the ones that will ignore that and can run up your bandwidth and I guess page hits too. But of course those aren't the kind that really hit you every day.
