Is this where my avata goes?

The correct answer is two fold.

1. Because it is a name, rules do not apply. Therefore it could as stated above.

or

2. One rule of English, is that any vowel followed by another vowel in 1 or 2 spaces has a long sound. For example...

dun is short. dune is long. Yet dunne would be like dun because the following vowel is in space 3.

Therefore "Ubuntu", if it were not a name would be you-bun-too.

Good point.

I didn't know that it was an actual word. I thought it might just be some sort of trade name. Since it is an actual word and is African, then the Egnlish translation is not quite right...It should be Ubuuntu, with a double "u". Like used in "vacuum".

It actually is a sub-Saharan African ethic or humanist ideology focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other. The word has its origin in the Bantu languages of Southern Africa. Ubuntu is seen as a traditional African concept. More at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_(ideology)

Somehow I don't think we should mess with their spelling  smiley

Yeah, they spelling is fine how it's right now, don't mess with it cheesy

I had no problems pronouncing it, since in Spanish you automatically pronounce it oo-boon-too Smiley
