OK. I got my free webspace. Now I want to start to figure out how to put something on it. I log in and from the panel click onto step 1 of the web builder link. This tells me that the log in details are incorrect(?).

So somewhere I read rthat I should just click step 2. This brings up a 404 message.

What do I do?

Since you're just starting, click on Step 1. then just click next without changing any of the login details there (DO NOT enter the password yourself). And that should work.

P.S. try searching the forums first next time. wink

Oh yeah, you click on Step 2 only after you setup the template.

Thanks for the reply, someaznperson.  When I go to the step 1 link, my FTP username & password are already auto-filled in the fields. When proceeding to step 2 it says incorrect username or password. I tried then deleting and re-entering them but same result. They can't be incorrect as they are the same as the ones which successfully log me into the CP.

does your browser save your passwords? if so, then the browser might be putting in the password you used the first time instead of the one given automatically. if the feature is on, turn it off and try again. if it still doesn't work try a different browser.

The correct password should be really long...about 34 characters.

Hmmm...no, the password is quite short & is the password I suppied when setting up with 100mb. On the CP , it shows the following:

 FTP Login Info:
   Server: paleochora.110mb.com
   Username: paleochora
Password: *same as your CP pass*

And I have tried it by adding the * at the start & end!!!

Don't enter your password into the field. The password should be pre-filled and very long. This is an encrypted version of the password and is correct.  If it is pre-filled with your password then clear the saved passwords and try again. The password you gave 110mb when you signed up will NOT work with website builder.

wha? who is 100mb? and that passord bit means that the password is the same one you used to login to the control panel. so if you logged on to 110mb with say me65 then your ftp password would be me65

Got it sorted now, thank you so much! It was the browser, you were right. I thought I'd disabled it by clearing the private data but I had to manually switch it off as well! Thanks again!
