This guide will explain how to easily use your 110mb hosting with a GoDaddy domain the right way  (yes there are wrong ways which half work).
All of the information in this guide was passed on to me by 110mb members - so many thanks to those people.

Also, while this guide is officially written for use with a GoDaddy domain, the steps will be identical for and other domain registrar you have used.
Only difference will be the pictures  cheesy

Cheers, and enjoy...

What this guide contains:
• Getting your domain working on the 110mb servers
• Few pointers on purchasing upgrades from 110mb

Why do I need to do it this way:
If you don't do it this way, you won't be able to get email addresses such as xxx@yourdomain.com working.
For example - Google Apps allows you to have 100 registered emails on your domain, for free.

Note
I am starting this guide assuming you have already purchased your domain. If you haven't don't worry as it's very simple to do and I don't think having me explain it is of much use.

I will make a few points though:
• You don't need to purchase any of the extra add-ons. Just the cheapest domain name registration is fine (they try and flog you lots of ****)
• Don't worry about email addresses. You can get 100+ for free from google (how-to guide on it's way.

The Guide

Step #1:
We need to find the IP Address of your 110MB.com server.
Go to: http://www.110mb.com/check_your_site.php

It should tell you the IP Address of your 110MB Server. You need to write this number down as we will need it later.

Step #2:
Click on "My Account"

Click "Manage Domains"

Click on your domains name.

Click "Total DNS Control and MX Records"

Overview of the upcoming changes.

You now need to delete everything under "A (Host)" except for the record with the host "@".
To delete a record, click the little "X" under "Actions" alongside the record to be deleted.
When finished you should be left with something similar to this:

Now click the edit button (the little pencil) alongside the record "@" (the only one remaining).
If you there are no hosts listed as you accidenally deleted them all, click "Add a New Record" and proceed as normal.

Leave the host set as "@"
Enter the IP Address for your 110MB which I told you to write down in Step #1.
Set TTL to 1 Hour

Once you have clicked OK, should should be left with something similar to this:

Under "CNAMES (Aliases)" check for the record "www" and make sure it is pointing to "@".
If it doesn't exist you may need to create by clicking "Add New CNAME Record" and using the settings: www, @, 1 Hour

Step #3:
Go to www.110mb.com and login. Click the little arrow in "Account Profile".

Add the domain which you registed on GoDaddy with eg. example.com

You will now need to just sit tight and let it work it's magic. I have been told that this process can take up to 48 hours, but usually it is under 24.
If you used this guide, please leave a message saying thanks Smiley

Right, I have nearly finished this guide now. I am just deciding whether or not to make a new guide for the google apps hosting, or put it in here.
I think I will make a new one.

Enjoy Smiley

Just point an A record to the server IP and add the subdomain to your Control Panel.

Well here's my newbie question for the day. My domain is parked at GoDaddy, could this be the reason why my 110mb domain loads my site fine...but the actual domain I already have isn't? I don't use any emails. I was at 50webs this morning..well over 8 hours ago now and decided to change the layout of my site to php, which required me a find a new host and I ended up here. My site uploaded just fine and it does load through the domain 110mb provides but not through my GoDaddy domain. It's still redirecting to the old host, even though I removed the domain from the list at 50webs, I also made sure to update the DNS to the new 110mb DNS at GoDaddy. That was well over 4 hours ago now and I'm not sure now if it's just them being slow or if it has to do with that this tutorial is about. But regardless I logged into my GoDaddy account and tried to follow this and there are no Total DNS records listed. It says that there aren't any. I'm just really confused now.

Dude, give things time:

Also, if you did update the DNS servers on GoDaddy, then you might need to wait for it to sort itself out before you can change them again.

I went through the tutorial above and after 48 hours I am still getting 110mb's 404 page.  Godaddy appears to be directing to 110mb well enough (becauese the 404 page is a 110mb page) but I have no idea how to fix it from there.

What is your domain?

Did you add an A record pointing to 66.197.252.182 ?

Update: If your domain is www.pinpoint3d.com, you have incorrectly configured it's DNS. It's primary name server, ns45.domaincontrol.com points it to 195.242.99.102, which is box 9's IP, while 110MB's name servers point your domain to 66.197.252.182. Which means, you have incorrectly pointed your domain to box 9's IP whereas your account is on box 13.

So what you need to do is login into your GoDaddy CP, change the value of the A record from '195.242.99.102' to '66.197.252.182' and wait for your primary name server to update.

110mb is better than godaddy
Yes, which is why I wrote this guide.
You can't purchase domain names from 110MB, so you need to use a company like GoDaddy for the domain and then you can use the fantastic hosting found here at 110MB wink

Yep, it should all be very similar to my guide above.
If you get stuck, just drop a message in here or in your own thread on these forums and one of the lovely people that help out round here will be able to fix it for you.
