I have not been with 110mb long and use the search facility to find answers, as it is advised to do, thus I have not posted very often. With this in mind I have paid for sendmail and only today paid to have .htaccess activated, does this mean I will now have to pay for MySQL as well or post all my questions and disregard all the post's of 'use the search facility'

Also, will the content of existing databases be kept, or have we better hurry making backups before they're down ?

I know we should do the backups (I did it once in a couple of days). But do we NEED to do the backup before it happens?

Also - if someone will not turn on the MySQL again - is the backup of existings database will be possible AFTER disabling the MySQL?


I hope you'll notify about the date and time at least few days before - not everyone is 24/7 online to do the backups etc.

Yeah Piotr Im sure theyll tell us like 5 days or so before the day it will happen. So you no everyone doesnt get mad. And I dont think we need to back up. There just locking it not totally deleting it

Im glad the admins are doing this actually because less downtime and slow time will be great for all boxes and plus there making it up to us in all this other stuff.

When you sign into the 110mb.com/login.php once it goes to the CP it will say box(YourBox).110mb.com/user_cp.php(something like that) But if your new i think your on box11 so you have nothing to worry about.

And thats what theyll have to watch out for yet again. Because when the MySQL got locked on box11 and you had to pay or post many people were spamming so they had to watch out and raise the posts you needed and requirenments because of the spamming.

I dont think there is any other Huge Resource killer besides MySQL, so i think this is the last surprise at least for all older boxes. But they are compensating us so it is all good. And They will make it as smooth as possible, I doubt these were the 'secret plans' because at first they said they wont lock the older boxes MySQL even though they are but Im sure they once again put long hard thoughts into putting this in action like on box11. I trust these Admins and everyone here because all of this is one step to making this an even BETTER free hosting then anyother out there!

i'm sure there will be surprises.  things happen suddenly with no warning at all but that's life.
the new features will be worth it if the restrictions aren't as bad as the box 11 mysql requirements.

Yeah, but you need .htaccess to configure it.
