I hope I qualify for this promo; this would be of good use for me and my site, since I need to enable some more functions (domains, MySQL, htaccess, etc.) on it...

Hey...another question. Andre said that we should only open our tickets on the 31st July. My question is how fast will the ticket be approved? Because if its gonna take a couple of weeks (thats how long my old ticket took).....then I have to move to another host for the time being.

So this means that you can't email 110 yet for you to get the free SQL features, right? I hope you guys do the right thing, since 110 almost became my third home (first is my place where I grew up, second is the school)...

I didn't went online for 1 day and admin add a new policy... things sure move fast in the world wide web .. or 110mb.com in this case.. Duh

but.. i do believe that the new policy really does help 110mb.com to strive as a better web hosting tomorrow.. but i wonder, wont giving 3 databases accounts to the members made the server runs slower? (its known that MySQL is part that made box 4/5/9/10 slower in these past few months.. )

I don't think it will slow it down. There will be more data to go through, but that isn't much of a problem. SQL saves databases as just files - about 3 files per table, and 2 files that 'outline' the database. (Forgot the extensions, Ill check my home comp later), and databases (All those files) are stored in folders. So it just has to select the right folder.

Edit: Just thought of this - it MIGHT even speed it up! More databases means less data per database, so the servers have to load less stuff to ram, which would make quicker load times, and free up some ram.

just a thought:
wouldn't it be better to do this implementation server by server? otherwise, you will be inundated on 31st, right?

anyway, I'll be planning my db migration to another host asap. its lucky i checked the forums when i did. to be honest, I also don't need the extra dbs etc... just 1 is sufficient for my needs.

Ah yes, I agree too.

There are roughly 350 people with 50+ posts (undecided), And I'd guess around 250 of them are on box4/5/9/10, and thats alot of work, considering that they have to check their posts on the forum, activate their SQL, and possibly reply.

another question: will our current database be deleted, for example for members like me who have already 50+ posts???

or can you keep it but just disable it until we pay/ get 50+ posts and then enable it

why am I asking this: I'm afraid restoring my database will give troubles and so, which'll cause that my site has to be rebuilt, because databases always give troubles when it's about restoring/backup/moving...

I was wondering that too. I'm guessing that if MYSQL's being disabled the logic will be there's little point in having a database there since you can't use it.

I have more than 50 posts, but after sending the email, how much time it will take to active it. I hope it wont take much time like the fsock enable request.
And after deactivating, will we loose out Mysql database, and will the site open or what? I m lil confused  huh

Thanks

Hello Andre,

It seems your decision for our community to survive and perform better is worth good.

This will in real sense help to get rid of those who don't contribute anything for community and else utilize heavy server resources.

But before going live on above decision also think on a suggestion made by Softportal @ following forum url

http://www.110mb.com/forum/index.php/topic,16518.0.html

This will indeed help all past active members.

Yours Sincerely,
Gaurav

Hey! Are we alllowed to even backup our database god? man I'm not complaining or anything cause it's free, but you guys should have gave us a warning or something and atleast let us backup our MySQL Databases. Now we can't even log into OUR ACCOUNTS on the main site, or atleast I can't.

Also to compensate for trouble of doing this to fellow existing members, you'll (considering you follow 1 or 2 above) get:

     >> Free .htaccess file support. AFTER some careful thought, this is too risky to give free. Instead you'll get fsockopen FREE.
Nooooooooo, I need .htaccess I've been waiting for it ever since I joined.
I can't pay because I'm too young to have a bank account. cry
