Without 50 posts the database will be removed?
As far as I've readed in the forum, the db won't be removed, it will be just deactivated. The data will remain until activated.

I am a little new to website stuff, so was using this place to create a new website and fiddle around with it to know things better. I know about the .htaccess of course, but what is the fsockopen? How does it benefit me to get that for free? Anyone have a clue?

No. It won't. Its just disable. this move is quite nice. 50 posts is not a very big thing, but the things you folks are giving in return are really stupendous.
thank you.
True. 50 post is really small... The first mail says that U have to include u forum profile link but when I click on Profile it just opens a normal page which would be similar to all so how can I include the profile link in the mail.I just sent my profile login name is it alright or should I send again!!!!!!
hmm... What andre ask when you want to activate is almost close to below : Is it possible to aproximate how long it will take untill mysql will be reactivated, becouse I want to make an announcement about it on my forum. I want to keep my forum members informed, so they will not get panic, depicting that's the end of comunity board.
Andre told me that he will take roughly 10 sec to be activate MySQL for each member.

AAhh! Not been reading these forums for a while and just recieved this thread in an email. Thanks for the heads up Andre, will have to see if I can contribute 50 useful posts before the 31st. I go abroad on the 24th and it's very important that my forum is running while i'm away as the forum is in relation to that trip. I found a site which does free MySQL databases, can anybody please advise me on how to backup my 110mb database and how to transfer it to the other server. The only thing I've really done with SQL is the standard queery language on flat datbases (DBF... )which isn't going to much good here. Thanks, G

So, for 10000 users, it would be... 27 hours activating dbs Of course, compared to the 10000 users, just a few will ask for the db activation and not everyone of them will make it at the same time...

With phpmyadmin you can export the full database to sql and import it in the other server. Of course, you have to install it. I don't know if it is possible to do the same with the internal 110mb dbmanager.

But using phpMyAdmin is breaking the TOS installing it on your site might trigger the auto-script to delete your account permanently. There is always other good methods to back-up your database. Just search the forum for "110dbm" and you might find some add-on made by members for 110mb.com

Now the big question remains: Will the mySQL accounts be offline even though mails are sent?
Got this in return when sending the activation mail:
When MYSQL gets limited, we'll start processing these emails instantly.

Just search the forum for "110dbm" and you might find some add-on made by members for 110mb.com Woah, I didn't know it is against the TOS. I have just seen the justification at: http://www.110mb.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=16&nav=0 (high CPU usage from the phpmyadmin script) But it says there "Since V2, 110DBM has the exact identical, 100% pure duplicate features as phpMyAdmin". This is not true, as far as I recall when I tried the script. phpmyadmin is way more powerful than 110dbm, which is very limited. I don't remember right now the limitations of 110dbm but were very big ones. Maybe it was a problem related to browsing/modifying the actual data contained in the tables. I will try it later and review. Do you know if it can be requested some key features that phpmyadmin has, to be added to this script? Who is developing it, someone at 110mb, or it is an external open source project? Regards! Jose Manuel.

Jose Manuel. only andre know the answer to that question.. but anyway, yes 110dbm can't compete with pMA in terms of flexibility and power. But in 110mb.com the power does not necessarily be the "tonnes of multiple functions". In 110mb.com, the support keep on looking for a versatile and lightweight database manager (its lightweight for both size and CPU usage). Then, come a script call phpMiniAdmin. phpMiniAdmin was then hack/crack/edited* to make it 110mb.com friendly. Thus, 110dbm was born. That ends my piece of crap. Now, i ask.. why do you really want that you rather use pMA? What function is that you really wanted to use? Generally, people want to backup/restore/optimize/delete rows so I don't really know... now, tell me. *under GNU licensed.

Hi to you all. This is my first post on the forum, and having being a member for a few months, I realise that I am not likely to hit the required 50 posts. I have instead paid the $9.95 to have MySQL activated. That doesn't mean that I won't post on the forums if I have something useful to add, I see this payment as a small investment into a project which is an ideal solution for my needs. The benefits to me far outweigh the cost. 110mb keep up the good work.

You should try to avoid making 50 one-liner posts like this because the admin will check your posts and if it's only no-content posts he wont activate mysql

so.. it`s a bit weird.. because.. i`ll make 50 posts now.. and then forget about the forum.. i think we all must be active.. not only 50 posts.. i think 3-4 new posts per week or something like that.. and another thing.. why don`t you enable all other features this way? :d
