If you're currently using a subdomain like domain.110mb.com, this doesn't concern you.(Mods don't have to worry about this). == The initial idea of charging members with extra domain (eg: www.mydomain.com) WILL NOT be implemented. As many are not happy about idea as per reading this thread. New plan is that those having extra domains, will have standard 400x60 banner placed on top site. And will be 1 time fee (less then 3 bucks) to remove. Why is this being considered anyway?Because free hosts are primary target of online abuse. In this case, tons of people who were kicked by previous hosts (for driving gazillion of visitors to their TLD domain) are now using 110 DNS. Meaning 110 network slows down greatly because of these folks, and everyone sees the effets. Meaning less members per server. Meaning 110 has to buy new servers just to support these abusive clowns. If you were angry because of this idea, then that's because you didn't understand above explanation of what's going on. It's all about income growth ratio to server support ratio. And as everyone knows, servers are VERY expensive. NOTE: DECISION IS BASED ON YOUR COMMENTS. Comments....

*sigh* I'd gladly tell my users about 110mb.com to bring some users. my other site requires users to join 110mb.com before joining. I just haven't gotten the word out on it. Also the free extra domian is one of the things that has attracted many users to the service in turn this would be doing more bad than good in my personal opinion. however do as you wish i guess i'll have to live with the subdomain.*sigh* but what about people that don't have tld they have generic domains like uni.cc (me)

Maybe you could give us the option of having a low bandwidth limit but not being charged for it. I am not one of the high traffic sites and use very little resources, but I use my own domain name. It might not be fair to charge the people who barely use any resources the same as the people who have the high traffic sites.

*OUCH* ! No way please...... Thats gonna be a bad thing ! I am placing 110mb.com banner on the hompage and my radio links where users "stay" and can have a look on it. But please reconsider it.

Agian, as I re-thought this I found the the ratio between good and bad is about %7 good to 93%bad. I came to this conclusion thinking out a chain reaction in my head. (1 Current domain holders at 110mb leave inturn less members. (2 The domain holders that left will leave a bad review every chance and in every place they can. thus driving possible members away, and lowering chances of revenue from advertisments. Statisticly this can bring almost no good to the company. However, I do respect your discission I am not angry, but I'll tell you i am not happy either. But still what about generic domains lie uni.cc they have dns control.

wow really? Darn, I like my .net domain, but can't pay a monthly fee to use it on 110mb, thats why I chose 110 in the first place, it was a free host. I guess you might as well get a paid web hosting if your going to use a top level domain, but thats just my opinion.

Yeah, if you start charging, then that takes away the best feature of this site. I've been advertising for you guys because of your domain option all over other forums, and the people who I sent here will be very angry if they come here only to find out that they have to pay. I also doubt this will help your company, because many angry members who are currently using top level domains will quit publicize bad comments about this site if you start charging.

He critizedes us (domain users) for being "useless". so you want to flame because i will flame if i get very mad ! PROOF: If you're currently using a subdomain like domain.110mb.com, this doesn't concern you.== However there's plans to one-off charge (or per month) those who use their own domain (eg. www.domain.com/co.uk/etc...) (Mods don't have to worry about this). Reason is because Extra domains bring no benefit to 110 service: don't expand it's brand, nor help with Alexa rating -- yet take up it's resources bigtime as lots of high traffic sites come from TLDs. (TLD refers to Exta Domains). Comments...

(i aplogize for my rudeness)

I'm just saying the greedy will leave to find someone to host it for free and those who can't pay will leave like me. I may have my own domain but it's uni.cc and those are free. I don't know about I do know that professionally I find this to be a a poor decision for the company. It will bring a bad reputation to 110mb so I hope you think what you are doing is an intelligent decision.

That's really a shame. I stayed with this server after the two major downtime periods that I went through, because I had faith in the services offered. It seemed like a good service, so I thought going through the downtime would be worth it. Sadly, I might have to scoop up some money or move all my stuff again which is really a pain, because I have a wordpress blog.

If you're going to charge for domains then why not just start a domain registering service for 110mb? That way, if you want to get paid and someone else wants a domain, it's a win-win I suppose.
