Bah what car model is it our ford wagon (06) hit 100k(km/@75kmiles now or about.) not too long ago and were supposed to get oil every 5-10k and a whole engine thingy at 50/100k well the car is reaching 120k and no problems yet tho instead of the engine thing we did sink in 500 bucks for various other things non related to it including a new battery and labour... but when your car get to oh umm say 500kmiles then start braging esp with only 1 tuneup in the cars history (in our hands we got it about 150k Miles old aka put 350 on it) and only a hand full of oil changes... and people wondered why it didnt last another 100k... hmmm i know its miles because the car was some how imported by mistake into canada (based on the daytime head lights never on ) and the digital meter was always Miles and not km (too lazy to switch) so when we saw 130 some times 145... enough said hell the V6 wanted and did 150kph (automatic loss of licence if pulled <<< tho OPP are normally not out durning rush hour and if so parked under a bridge and y the time get up and go even theior over powered V8s we would of been long gone) and it was during rush hour too 2+ people people lane FTW ) a few weeks ago ever want a good engine either go with Honda V-tech for 4C or for 6+ Ford we have put threw chevs engines out with in 100k and only at 120kph or less so their no good (V4s... and the new ones too...) and we have only burnt out 1 out of erm 8 Fords with V6+ all the others rusted out before the engines went

the car i have is mazda (ford ownes mazda) protege5 its the sporty wagon type LOL http://paulrokicki.deviantart.com/art/old-rims-back-on-my-car-123971610 and only protege5s have red gauges out of the protege mazdas. to be honest i dont really have too many problems with this car except problems caused bu lazy dealership mechanics. I always try to do my own maintenance as long as i can do it. if its too hard i will ask a friend to help me or go to the mechanic i can trust.

Ford dose not own Mazda, they have a partnership and Ford has a minority stake in Mazda.

quality feels like a ford and i dont mean the european ford either. They use same American suppliers for many parts. I feel that Ford has improved their quality under just a few years, in Europe. I would not buy a Mazda that's for sure, Toyota, Honda and Subaru is the 3 I would consider from Japan. Rest are: BMW, MB, Audi and why not Saab.

Import a new one from Brazil they still make them and even hippie vans. VW Bug is just crap, those from the 80's are cold and what not. Ford might make them in the USA for the NA market, but international trucks are made in Thailand or Japan with the same parts made together with Ford.

I have to disagree with BMW, my M3 is the worst car ive had to date, it handles like a shopping trolley the suspensions too hard and the acceleration considering its a 4 litre (V6 or V8?) is pretty bad

4L would prob be a V6... unless its one of those funny small 8's i personally think BMWs are only really good for 5 years or when their road warranty runs out then their as good as trash... plus the designs are UGLY Import a new one from Brazil they still make them and even hippie vans. VW Bug is just crap, those from the 80's are cold and what not.
i thought they stopped making them... but the problem is for Canada and prob USA you cant import a new new car unless it is in the USA/Canada so i cant run out and buy a new Ford Ka from the UK and import it... same with the USA im sure... for canada it has to be 15 years old and pass safety ratings as well... so the newest i can buy is a 1994 or 1995 in jan given i can find a 1995 made in Jan 1995... if i import one from feb and gets here in Jan i could lose it too the crusher

Who would want a 15 year old car, when I imported my first car a few years ago it was 4 years old V70 2.5 T5 and I did get it for like a 1/3 of what it would cost here with the same spec. It was a fun car but it was a lot in the shop for break downs and fuel bill was huge so I traded it in for a Toyota. Do Canadians drive on the wrong side as well? Ain't it easier to go to the US and buy a car there then shipping it from UK?
