Ubuntu Is The Shizz.

Ok, so on Friday I went out late with my family. A couple of my cousins were there, ect.

So, we were walking about town, and I come across a store that sold games. So naturally I told everyone I will meet up with them later, and entered the store. I looked around a bit, then saw Battlefield 2 on sale for $10.00 brand new. I know it's a sorta old game, but I raised an eyebrow. So I pick up a copy, and it looked as if it had nearly the same specs needed to run as Battlefield 1942 did. So I walk up to the counter, and pay for the game. Later on when I got home, I tore open the package and popped the disk into the tray. Right away the game came up with the menu asking me to install, ect. I chose to install. So then it asks me for a serial. Of course I look on my case, and find a serial. I enter that exact serial, and it says it's invalid. So naturally I thought that I entered it wrong. I entered it again. Same thing. I tried re-running the installation, same thing. Finally, I open up a keygen I had from a while ago with 175 EA games keygens, I pick BF 2, and generate a key. I put that key in, it works. After that, I go to run the game. It flashes a black screen, then back to my desktop. At this point I'm getting SICK of these issues. I un-install, then reinstall, only this time I used the registry fix that EA tells you to use (go to the registry and enter your right key) which I did. I ran the game, black screen, then back to desktop. So at this point it's about 2:00 in the morning. So I called EA, and they said they don't know what is wrong. I hung up. The next day I go back to the store, and said, "This game doesn't work." the man who was the same one who sold me it, said, "Well, we can't give you a refund." I said, "Why not?" and then he said, "Because you could have copied the files to your hard drive and just wanted to get your cash back. I then proceeded to tell him, "The serial doesn't even work." he said, "Sorry, nothing I can do. Did you call the company?" I said, "Yes, I did, and they couldn't do anything about it either, and recommended me come to get an exchange." He said, "Well, no can do, next time don't buy a game that doesn't work." At this point I am really getting pissed and said, "Well, smart guy, how the hell am I supposed to know it doesn't work WITHOUT OPENING THE PACKAGE?" He said, "If your going to get rude, then you need to leave." And then I said, "I want to speak with your manager." He said, "I am the manager." Then I said, "Well, perhaps the owner of the store should reconsider what arrogant people they put behind the counter." And he said, "Ok sir, you have to leave." I said, "Ok. Fine." I then threw the game in the trash can in the store and said, "Don't even try to sell it to anyone else."

God I hate people like that. I will stick to playing BF 1942.

ROFL, that is a funny story (Besides the game not working), nice going with throwing it in the trash. I've had crap experiences with that too, I buy a game and it looks like it will work on my computer than it doesn't and I've just wasted $30... It must be so much nicer owning a video game console than you know for sure the game will work....

You should call the owner of the store and tell him that his manager is rude. Get him fired!

No, someone else can do it. I'm disgusted by the level of ignorance the guy had. I like console games better too, because you know if it's made for that system it will work. But PC is somewhat better because you can mod the games.

See what I get for actually paying for something?

Yeah I've never owned a console before, once I'm off on my own I probably will. Computers are better to use since you can upgrade them with new GPUs and CPUs. Well your stuck with the console forever.

You should be glad you only lost $10 though.

Yeah, if it was $30 (the original price here), I would have made a big deal about it.

No, in those cases you must be professional, otherwise you look like the idiot.

EA Games' technical support is the worst technical support on the planet. I suggest you find a BF2 message board to ask for support on.

Too bad. Have you tried downloading patches for the game though? You should at least do that first.

bf 2 sys requirements != bf 1942 sys requirements

Battlefield 2 requires a lot more. You ended up shelling $10 and threw out the game, should have kept it - you could send it to EA who will give you a new serial if the one that it came with didn't work. Anyways you may not have met the system requirements - or the seller could have sold you  a pirated or faulty version - hence why it would be only $10.00
