Correct, a small one time fee of $9.95 gets you unlimited MYSQL databases for the life of your site (or 110mb). Option 2: Get 350 quality, non spam, informative posts on our little forum here and then submit a ticket to get it activated. Option 3: Use the search button in the top right hand corner of this page and see that lots of other people have asked this same question and told the same thing. What do you need it for? SQLite is available.
MySQL is available with 350 useful forum posts (or as a paid upgrade).

If you want MySQL you must pay with your time or with your money. They're equivalent.

Not quite, I'd say he still needs about 350, none of the posts I've seen could be classed as "useful".

@ laksams
Apologies, I think the point was you could either pay for MySQL or spend time on the forum helping other people, with 350 (useful) posts you qualify for a free MySQL upgrade.

I really don't know how you could have made that any clearer.
(mySQL = paid upgrade) || (mySQL = make 350 (quality-spam) posts on the forum)
Did you READ the terms of service when you signed up? Or the very helpful FAQ?

Let me sum it up in easy to understand sentences.
MySQL can be bought for ten dollars. OR, if you want it for free, you must get a post count of 350. These posts must be helpful.
If you can't understand, I have no idea how else to explain it.
