I have a community and job site. I need all tricks that can help my site gain rankings. I have little money at this moment so i can't afford to go for adwords or paid advertising. I have already submitted my site details in some free classified websites like http://www.craigslist.com http://www.hindlist.com http://www.backpage.com and also in some directories which offer free submissions. Iam also submitting to regular search engines like http://www.google.com http://www.yahoo.com http://www.msn.com  Is there anything else that i can do to optimize my site freely.

You might try to do either SEO (free but takes time and knowledge) or PPC (takes lesser time but might bloodbath if not used properly). SEO is probably the right way for you to go if ou are serious about growing the site - it pays off in the lonegr run.

You are perfectly right. If you don't have huge traffic to your website,
your income would be insufficient compared to those who know what

Use it wisely and start monitoring your traffic today and many months
to come.  cool It's well worth the headaches and time consuming efforts

As I said earlier, just go for search engine optimization. It is cheap, in fact free, if you do it yourself (but you have to involve time). Once you nmake a bit of money with SEO, then go for PPC and thus multiply your money - such a simlpe formula is it.

Don't fall for crap programs - there are a lot of them. Just make sure that you invest your hard earned money the best.

add interesting keywords within meta tag..post to forums/blogs about your site...
