... the house being Columbia University. If you're in the neighborhood, you should drop by; the event starts at 7PM EDT It's a bit too crowded for my liking, though, but I guess that makes it all the more fun, heh...

I think introducing one-sided arguments is the antithesis of moderating virtue, so I'm just going to watch the event now and chill

Republicans sure to do support murder
Obama is the better choice but will probably not be elected for certain reasons.

No, Obama (and McCain) are saying what you want to hear... They will say whatever it takes for them to get into office... Republicans sure to do support murder
Obama is the better choice but will probably not be elected for certain reasons.

palin knows how to get gas prices down (alaska, durr) mccain supports drilling offshore, obama isnt governors make more decisions than senators (numbers to prove palins had tougher decisions to make than obama) obama is descendant of a SLAVE OWNING african tribe, and isn't even all black. (throw out the black card, that wont work) lets look at how much experience mccain vs obama in an experience deathmatch.... he'd beat obama before he had his heart attack. lol
all are politicians and are going to lie about everything. so look at the facts/beliefs/track record, not what they say.

Alternative fuels are more important than Gas prices. Higher prices is (as the cliche says) "aweful tasting medicine", but switching to alternative fuels is better overall, so hence "the patient needed it".
Obama's black, his family had slaves, okay. He doesn't personally have slaves. You can't blame people for the wrongs of their ancestors. In his age at america, there were (almost) no slaves anymore. People didn't discriminate against whether they were a slave or not. They discriminated purely by the skin color. They don't really care whether he owned slaves or not. Just your skin color.
Experience? All you learn from "expericence" is that money is better than politics. It's better to get someone clueless (and thinks they're doing the right thing), than someone who purposely wants to get money.
What quantifies the difficulty of a decision? How many people you have to step on for it to work?

You do also know Obama has revoted many times because he didn't know what it was he was voting for right? Or he didn't know thats what it meant. Yeah, lets have him as President
( NUKE SOME COUNTRY BUTTON ) Obama's Peeps: You need to decide, press that button, and kill thousands of innocent people, but kill a few guilty Obama: *HITS THE BUTTON* Obama: OH NOES! I mean don't press it! Can I undo it? Obama's Peeps: NO! LEARN TO LISTEN AND READ! Obama: :^(
Lol. I know he couldn't do something like that, but you get the point...

theoretical situation:
your on your private jet. because your rich and awesome (i'm sure its true right? lol). your usual pilot is gone. you've got this new pilot who's acting confident and "knows" what hes doing. you like him, you talk with him for a while and then its time to take off. hes going through the routine, your minding your own business, not seeing his clueless face. somehow, he gets the plane off into the air. bumpy take off? eh, you didn't notice, hes new, hes good. better than the experienced guy because he's newer right? he thinks hes doing the right thing because theres no one else to fly the plane, so hes doing it for you. then you are 35,000 feet above the ground, and you wake up to a bunch of alarms. the pilots freaking out. you try to ask him whats wrong, and you find out his experience is that hes flown a remote-control plane before. and has played some flight simulators. and applied to the air force, and got denied.
you crash and die.
sure does make me want a clueless president.
gas prices? yeah, you get that alternative fuel out RIGHT NOW. and i'll be ok with it. but the fact is, we are far from having that alternative energy source out right now. if one was found (we have many) it would take YEARS to get it into mass production. and still most people wouldnt get it. why? umm the economy slump right now? yeah we can afford to go buy that brand new car that runs on that new fuel. we need gas prices DOWN so that we ALL can save money.
when you get that alternative fuel that will run in ALL cars, and you get it out cheaper than gas, more efficient than gas, and your going to make the cars that it runs on free. let me know.
this is America, instant gratification wins our hearts. give us something now. until then, make what weve got better.

Its our Motto, Why bother? It works...
Now, Yes antimatter15... I do agree we need alternative fuels... But whats that, where are they? Exactly. We can't starve ourselves from furl until we get alternatives.
The thing is, you see commercials about gas companies searching for alternatives, my ass they are. They are yes, but they aren't doing it because they care, they are doing it because they know they will soon no longer be needed (or at least not as much) and if they can find the next fuel source, they are IN! So yes, the gas companies are EVIL, but its all we have right now

Well, let's all get a prius And the nuke button probably needs a hour-long delay to actually detonate, so you do have a good chance of disarming it What would you prefer, a inexperienced airplane pilot who *tries* to do a good job, or an experienced one paid to crash the plane? If we don't starve ourselves of fuel, we have no real motivation for finding/using alternatives. Scientists/Engineers are intrested in the possibility of finding a fuel when everyone is desperate, owning the entire industry, making huge profits. That's what they're after. the huge profits. If gas was cheap, the profits would be tiny, likely lower than the R&D cost. No alternatives take off, because they end up more expensive than gas (nobody wants to buy a new car when they just got a perfectly good one).

Neither, I don't like planes, so I wouldn't get in I know what you mean, of course we shouldn't get a crap load of it so it goes down to like $2 a gallon, which it never EVER will no matter what EVER again because they know how much we are willing to pay for gas, but not drilling is not helping us a whole lot. Plus, the point also is, we are paying so much for gas, we are sending other countries billions upon billions of dollars, and if we drill in Alaska, or offshore, like where we can get it ourselves, it will stop and keep the money in our economy.

Well, it is too political. Is it possible that we drill in alaska, and dump foreign oil, keeping the price the same?
