I could never get with the trend of using some else's templates or whole flash based site. I built this site from scratch (Not including the guest-book.) and is...or at least I think it is a pure HTML site.  Just wondering what your opinions are on it.

Hi sriderorg, and welcome to 110mb, the best free host on planet Earth.

Your site is...well...basic.

I know you're trying to keep it simple, but you can keep it simple with adding some nicer features. wink

The most common rules for development are:

1. Never use Comic Sans MS or Times New Roman (this one is a bit more acceptable) in web development. The most common fonts are Ariel, Verdana, etc.

2. Never use a picture background. You always want a nice easy going background of solid color (meaning no gradients).

3. Never use flashing animations or clip art, unless you yourself are a clip art or flash animation distributor such as Animagifs.

4. Try to stick away from wacky colors. Try to keep themes looking similar with their color bases.

5. Don't post pictures in a low format, nice sites need nice pictures and graphics.

6. Try to use proper grammar and spelling.

Of course, these are mosty what some people hate (though not all).

It is a great site, and you have a good idea going.
If you want to improve it just follow Manicgames' tips. Otherwise just keep adding some more content, and remember to have fun with it.

Hey, a fellow Ubuntu user.  The clip art on the main page is the old logo. (From when we were still a company.) I have someone working on an "upgraded" version.  Yeah, the main reason I still have this site after all these years is because I have fun with it.  Thanks for the tips

Looks like a nice site. As manicgames said using more standard fonts etc. for better cross-platform/browser compatibility is a good idea. A lot of the layout/positioning could be done entirely using CSS, so if you wanted to update it you could look at making it XHTML compliant with CSS etc. (as, for example, a lot of tags such as <center> are deprecated, superseded by CSS). However if, as you say, someone is working on a newer upgraded version it might not be worth doing a complete re-work like that.

LOVE the "got the negatives so don't get any ideas"  very funny.  That is like telling people "I dare you!"  SO you know they are gonna try. grin

I thought my website had been deleted. I moved to another web-host that didn't re-format my html in a zig-zag pattern every-time I saved. I check back here a few days later and my site is back up and running.

I back up all my HTML to Text files were I know it will be clean and easy to read, and use that same code to do a complete overhaul on my site here.   I'm glad to say, it looks better than ever before, atleast I think it does.

I like best the photos in your site, they are fantastic!

I think "old style" may be original, I also build my sites from scratch (no HTML generator or site builders) I use ssi technoligy for a better organization, that's one of the reasons I love 110mb! You can use ssi!

Well I've put Times New Roman in my site, I was a bit bored with verdana or arial, I love garamond for reading too but it is not cross browser, or georgia but it makes look you site like a newspaper,

I've turned to Times New Roman, because the eyes are use to it but I think I'm going to change
