You know, one feature I think I'd appreciate is a way to pay for a few month bandwidth bump; nothing major, but it'd be a way for us to handle things during peak months. I know for a fact that during the summer, our usage went up approximately 200-300 %, and if we could expand our bandwidth allotage during that month, it'd be nice.

If you need zhe BW, you will automatically get 1TB without extra costs, a admin once said. It is from some time ago so it may be changed by now.

If you are getting that kind of traffic, put up some ads and you can afford to move to shared hosting. Otherwise you should be fine with the bandwidth here.

The thing is, we don't get much traffic usually, but during peak times, we got several times more. Right now, its not a concern, but as we grow, I wonder whether we'll hit the 300 GB/Mo limit during peak times. Also, I've never heard that, Panzergrenadier Denizz. Can anyone confirm? Also, I fear whether bandwidth-killing tools may kill us, in a raid, or something. Are there any measures against that?

Even with high traffic, you won't hit 300GB, ever. You can't even host multimedia files here (like mp3, wmv, wma, etc.), so it's not like those can consume your bandwidth allocation. I don't see how anyone can ever use half of their bandwidth. I've been here for 2 almost 2.5 years now. And when I first came here, we had less than 300GB, and I didn't ever use half. I don't even use hardly any...

Alright, thanks. I realize it is probably hard to go through 300 GB/Mo , but maybe I'm just paranoid because we used to run out by the 20'th of every summer month...

My PHP-Fusion download site: http://www.phpfusion-mods.net with 1600 members uses about 9 Gb. I don't think you need to worry a lot.

Well, 12k members, 75 GB/mo is what we used to take in the summer...we initially thought somebody was stealing our bandwidth, but it appears legit...meh, 300 GB/mo *should* be enough, and I can try some bandwidth reduction techniques if its not.

"Your website won't be suspended if one day you end up on front page of popular site. (like on Digg). 110mb servers can easily handle huge bursts of traffic. 99% of paid hosts would shut your site down & you'd loose thousands of people. But not with 110mb." this is on their site http://www.110mb.com/upgrade-free-plan.phpso I think the same thing will happen if suddenly you go over the 300gb/mo limit

meh dont sweat it too much if your using 75GB per month during peak times at a growth rate of 1.5 each year it will take you about 3 years to reach that limit and about 6 years to reach the 1TB a month limit so your fine 100% also thats only during peak periods and not every month... Best bet to calc your growth get a counter (invisible one) which counts unique visits and calc the bandwidth per user total and how much of that is from new people (simple devision and multiplication ) granted not the most accurate but will give you a idea on growth per month/year i only use about a few hundred on this site: http://kinggreg10amvs.com But im hoping for more usage upon my new video being released in about 1 or 2 months time i dont put them on my site i put them on a dedicated site which holds i think about 3TB of stuff now if you want his server costs by all means ask him (he has 800k users and about 500k login at least once a week and download a average of 30MB each visit and about 50k upload on average 50MB) but im hoping it will get better reviews then my last video EDIT: 2600 post

My website, http://inotepad.110mb.com was originally hosted with awardspace and the reason I moved it was because I used up all 5Gb of my bandwidth within about half an hour of posting it on some website. While most of that traffic won't stay for long, I can envisage it going past the 300Gb if I accidentally publicise it too much again.

Anyway, if you get 300GB of traffic and had ads, you'd be pretty rich.
