Can anyone tell me how to remove the damn phpBB from my site.  I did NOT realize I would have to PAY the damn $9 fee, and as I have just buried a cousin, I haven't the money to pay anything including attention.  I just want the thing OFF of there because all traffic to my page is routed to the damn installation page.

I am NOT pleased.  Up until now, I have been promoting this site left and right.  Can anyone help?

To remove phpbb, you only have to delete all its files. Now isn't that easy? wink

And what's this about the "damn $9 fee"?

The link told me I had to activate the SQL thing for $9 to get the forum program to work.  (Site management tools: Create & Manage MySQL Database(s))

How do I access the root directory?

I really am frustrated beyond measure over this.

You have a choice of file manager or FTP. Have you experience with either?
And you don't need MySQL to install phpbb; as you can read in the installer, SQLite would work just fine.

TY.  I think for now I will leave out a forum.  I wish I had better knowledge of all this stuff, but I'm not a computer savvy guru.  I had saved all my html per page, so I chucked the whole monster and started over.

Thanks again.

Alright. When you decide that you want a forum later, you could always post again for help.
If you have no more need for this thread, please mark it resolved.

You rock.  Thanks for your help.  Now I'll hunt down the "resolve" option. lol  grin  Of course, I feel sort of stupid for not catching on quicker.

Hi, welcome to 110mb! Yes, the world of web development can get frustrating, I don't know how many times I've thrown my keyboard at the wall trying to debug PHP, but with a little help, and the backbone support of this community, you can make this an enjoyable experience! First, I would recommend learning basic HTML. Basic HTML is rather easy, but can make some awesome sites. Next comes the visual elements, CSS. CSS stands for cascading style sheets, these are what gives your sites cool effects and make them look nice. After that, learn PHP. PHP is the best web language, it lets you do cool things such as make your own user registration systems, ect. Now, about MySQL, it costs 9 bucks one time. This isn't necessary, but is a good investment. You ultimately can use SQLite, which is free on 110mb. SMF 2.x, and PHPbb 3 can both use it, as well as a few others.
