i found one think in the site u gave for selling link.
last month when i gone to that home page ,
they where displaying the number of site with their PR
at first there where 3 sites in PR 8
But now they are not , may be after selling link they came back down in PR.
SO when we sell links PR will drop sure.
May be ur friend is restricting some thing. or Doing aggressive SEO.

Some fishy. This service uses PHP code to include on the page. Which pulls information from the backlinks engine, then runs this code on your server. Giving them what? Complete access to your website? Is this a trustworthy company?

How long did it take before they sold text links to put on your site? I have a Pagerank of 3, so 2 dollars per month per link. So, I don't know if I will get link as fast as you. You have PR2. So $1 per link. More people willing to jump on PR2 I think.

i had the pr for the site as PR 3 ,
Then i sold the link for $25 , for 2 months (Not through link selling site),
So my PR Dropped to PR2.

If u have a PR 3 site they will put many ads on ur site as many link buyers need to get more PR for their site.

iteamweb has said some important points out here, he's right (I asked my friend again wtf is he doing with his site and he told me he is doing some good seo work.. I believe he is damm good with seo work..)

As far as i can see their php code seems alright, but I am not the expert in php - so you webmasters should look for it yourselves for any hidden agenda in backlink's php code. As I told you guys earlier, you do earn money with backlinks - thats what I liked - and their payments are pretty prompt.. I found selling links made me more money than adbrite or adsense..

I am wonder... does anyone of you have successfully sell any links with "backlinks" on non-English language pages?

I know that buyers choose the pages by themeselves where they locate their links (as I know person who actually bought the links in there), it's not any random choice of the "system". And for a month already I have 5 pages in there (2x PR2 main pages, 3x PR1 sub pages) and no any link. So I wonder is it because of language on my pages (Polish - but descriptions in backlinks I wrote on English) or is it because of not so popular category that I choose for my pages (fun and games, entertainment - match to the pages content).

What do you think?

Personally I don't have any non english pages but I believe that people might buy links on your sites..try choosing other categories also.
