If you have a mediocre graphics card, save your time getting it, all it does is give you an error that there is an unhandled exception. A complete waste of 5 hours of my life downloading.  angry

complaining about a game you pirated, is like complaining about not being the Emperor of the Universe - either way it's something you never really had in the first place.

It's not the point. Setting aside legality, it should work. What if I downloaded to evaluate it? Then wanted to pay for the real version? Ever think of that? Some hackers/crackers don't do it to harm the companies, some try to help.

SimCity Societies fails to simulate city-building in the way its predecessor used to. You no longer place zones and watch how cool they develop, you just pop some buildings and that's it! Also, players have complained about it being too easy, as they had never gone past the income.
IMO, I never managed to get a steady income in SC4 without killing developement.

My 7yo likes to make the cities but gets frustrated when he doesn't make money either.....I just tell him he is too young to understand fully the whole budget thing.

Played the first version long time ago, than bought 3000, than 3k unlimited, than 4 deluxe (rush hour included)

(downloading the demo version now)

Societies looks good enough, but people I know who've played it say that it's definitely lacking as a whole.

Hey guess what? Still illegal. You won't get very far in court if caught cracking software if you say "it was to let people try it before they buy". 1) Most companies already release trial versions and 2) Yes, illegal.

the game was poorly received it was the first time Maxis wasn't involved in creating a Sim game. They handed it to another company who butchered it- it's basically an even poorer version of City Life. Maxis was too busy on The Sims line and maybe spore.

A 3D remake of SC4 would have been a hundred times better.

DO NOT BUY.

BUY SIMCITY 4 + RUSH HOUR. SUPPORT MAXIS, NOT TILTED MILL. TILTED MILL SUCKS. IT JUST PLAIN SUCKS. THIS IS NOT SIMCITY 5 BUT SIMCITY 0.1. BELIEVE MY CAPITAL LETTERS.
