it'll be interesting to see how you pull that off... not just the php, but the html and css also.... good luck, you're gonna need it!!!

EDIT: then again, you could almost just use a table for the layout, so the css version shouldn't be too hard

yea, tables are going to be needed, it'll be coded like a webspell/phpbb/jommla thing. only it'll have my aution script added.

(going to probably take me like 1-2 months to code the first version)

Great! Just use tables or divs with CSS. If you have Dreamweaver use it's layer function, it will help A LOT! smiley

here's the (almost) final version of the homepage.
http://i37.tinypic.com/205bou1.png

im going to do the design of the auctions, UserCP, profile, content pages this weekend. im going to start coding in about 2 weeks, have to do some client work first, next week.
still deciding on what forum to use, im going to get VB or IPB after a little while when the site get going. probably going to use AEF for right now. only problem is that im going to have to integrate the forum with the site (e.g when you sign up on the site it makes you sign up with forums too, and integrates the pm system, and what not) so switching forum software will be a pain. im only going for paid because they usually have better support, and well i trust them more.

i haven't coded it yet... but...
php/html/css i usually use notepad 2 (alot better than microsoft's notepad) sometimes i use topstyle pro for CSS, but not usually.
frontpage/dreamweaver are a no,no for me. i hate them both, and they dont help you learn programming languages...

any i did the design in Ps CS3
