The application installer has been one of the best features which must immediately be placed on the front page of the site with complete list of packages that you can install with it.

Just a few suggestions : - when we select directory for installation and the click on install, please let the installer run a separate window.

A question : - can we run two installers simultaneously or can we run an installer and at the same time use ftp service.
Waiting for the response

Here is the list for those who don't know about it

   4images    bBlog      coppermine   cutenews         gallery
   Joomla     Mambo      MyBB       MyLittleForum      Nucleus
   osCommerce  phpBB2          sBlog          SMF                tikiwiki
   UseBB      wikiwig     wordpress        Xoops             ZenCart

EDIT : -  Bought This post to top in order to allow everyone to see the current status

latest list of installation checked
   4images
Installation fine
   bBlog
Installation fine
   coppermine
Installation fine but would be better if imagemagics installed
   cutenews
Installation fine
   gallery
Installation failed
(authentication through login.txt file has problems)
The file needs to be uploaded, i did that many times, it authenticates it at step 2 but when we click on continue it says authentication failed, also a lot of safemode related warning scrolls out

   Joomla
(as pointed out earlier and qouted by andre needs to be upgraded)
Ok. Joomla shall be updated to .12 version. I though it also has self-updater within the admin area.

   Mambo
(installation successful but need to maually remove installation directory  )
if we would have a direct install directory removal it would be much better, from newbabies point of view.

   SMF
Installation fine

   wordpress
Installation fine

   Xoops
Installation fine

   osCommerce

   failed

Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.

   PHPBB2
Installation fine
But install and contrib directory needs to be manually removed

   Sblog
Installation fine
but need to manually remove the install directory

NOTE : - One thing i would like to say that all this is regarding installation only and not about customization or any other stuff

One more thing noticed regarding php
BOX1 has php 5.1.6
BOX2 has php 4.3.10-16

also box2 has gd compiled with freetype

well you can feel the difference, i was trying to install joomla smf phpbb2 on my account 2days ago it took me +1 hour to upload all files and then another 20 minutes editing each directory permissions and running installers,
but with this feature on it took me only about 15 minutes to set up five of these
(SMF, Mambo, xoops, wordpress, 4images)

You can upload the files in a zip file and unzip it through the file manager.

murgonjudo,
Fixed. => http://murgonjudo.110mb.com

Reason is because you had index-old.htm

I simply renamed to: index.htm

Your homepage (the page you want to see when you type in your site in browser) should ALWAYS be called: index.htm (OR) index.html. I prefer the .htm extension.

And i am not an expert but what i can get from your error message is wither the installation file for your components or your installation file for joomla can't be found.

Yes box1 doesn't have this feature available to it right now. BOX1 users will get the features by the end of jan 2007

It might seem unfair for old members to not have this feature but consider the other side till the end of january if any issue regarding installer do exist they get resolved so you will get refined product and if you are so restless you can always switch by opening a new account
