This one isn't a Microsoft vs Linux thread lol

I'd say this is a major boost for open source

Lol that's why I said this is not a Linux vs Microsoft thread I don't want any Linux vs Windows arguments on this one.

I'm hoping people can just keep this one peaceful smiley, I am not attacking windows with this thread at least lol, just saying this is a boost for open source

Seriously. Anyway, it was inevitable in my opinion.. Microsoft got way pricey.. and the Asus EEE Pc and some others are probably setting good examples. But, I don't see a whole lot of novice computer users buying a computer with linux pre-installed.. you never know though.

well consier there are a lot of novice pc users that dont even know what windows is....

Iasked people what operating system they're using and they go huh what's that, so I rephrase and say Ok what version of windows do you use, they still go huh whats windows.

So I rephrase and ask well does it say windows xp or windows 2000 or windows 98 or something when it's booting up.

So a lot of the novice users actually won't care what they get

i really dont think this will happen anytime soon on a major scale untill more non windows software appears in stores but i would like to push non-vista pc's. vista needs alot more hardware to run speedy than any other os.
