I've noticed an increased amount of members starting to type in bold all the time, is this a new fad I did not know of?  undecided

It's an indicator that 110mb has an increase in annoying people. I skip this kind of posts.

I've been skipping posts by new members of late full stop tbh some are cool, But there have been a lot of annoying ones of late that have no clue and no wish to get one, and demand everyone else do their work coding them aka james style.

Others have simply been well whiners complaining about 110mb for absolutely no reason.

If you have something importan to say then you might want to embolden one word, not the whole sentence.

If this annoyance doesn't stop soon, I may be leaving the community, I don't want to put up with random idiots running about creating stupid topics about why their site is insanly awesome written in bold or other seizurific colors, or trying to sell you poop like their poopty logos. I had this happen before, I hope it doesn't reach that point again. Not trying to be mean, but none of us can hold much serious conversation with idiots running around posting stupid replys like:

Quote
SATHYAM GARMENTSTHIS IS MY WEB NAME.I NEED SOME TEXTILE BACKGROUNDS BANNER & LOGC

Turn the caps off and speak understandable English.

Quote
FRENDZ iam using a template in my site now i want to change the template,if i change the template, the  menu items that i had saved would get erase???//????clear my doubt

Erm, what?

Quote
I HAD OPENED AN OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR TEXTILE BUSINESS.GIVE ME THE BEST TEMPLATE TO THAT WEB

This person, who will rename nameless despite his company name being in the quote, is someone who needs to learn "Forum Ethic" (I will be making a post soon about Forum Ethic as I call it, due to people acting like morons.)

Lets move on shall we?

Quote
I've just changed my password and then tried to enter the website builder admin but I get an error:
Password (or login) is incorrect!

Then I changed the password back but I get the same error again.
What can I do now?? I have used it several times to edit my page and now I don't have any access.
Thank you.

Quote
I have jsut enrolled to start a website as am very impressed with the 5 gig of space.

I am trying to start via the "start sitebuilder now" option. Each time I click on it and try and log on it is telling me that i have incorrect name or password.  I have checked quite a few times and it is correct (same as the control panel).  What am I doing wrong?  Cant wait to get past this stage and start building!

Thanks

Simple things such as reading can go a long way. I know sometimes the site builder doesn't work, but most of the time it's because people do not read.

My last point:

Quote
NEED ADMIN CANT LOG INTO C,P.

Quote
[admin needed] sendmail not working on box13

Quote
[Admin Needed] - Site comes up with 404, File manager blank.

Quote
[admin needed] It won't let me in website builder!

Quote
[Admin Required] Domain Problem

Quote
HELP ME [ADMINS] License for website builder!!!

Quote
[admin] bugs/problems report in Website Builder

Need I say more? Of course not. Most of the time the admins are not needed, you simply are making slight errors, because your not paying attention, or the minute you hit a snag you come asking for an admin. Admins help a lot, but they don't have time to deal with petty things like the site builder, or not being able to use MySQL because you have not even activated it. Unless there is a serious bug, involving server-side errors, which does not include your mistakes, it does not require an administrator.

I think i've made my ranting point.

Me neither. I used to post nearly 30 or so posts a day, on a good day, and now I'm down to about 5 or 10. Too much spam, not enough people to deal with this spam.

I agree completely.  We are  being overrun with spam.  Something needs to be done about it, but what can really be done.  We cant force people to use the search, be literate, or even semi competent.  I know people have suggested a warning system or other things like it.  It might help depending on what is done with that.  If they ban users from posting in certain boards if their warning is to low.

I have a decent solution that would work. Replace the index.php in the forum folder with a different one that lists the FAQ's from the forum, and links to the main topics for them, and doesn't allow a user to move forward unless they answer the question, "Was your question answered on this page?" If yes, then direct them to the 110mb home page. If no, it directs them to the forum index page. For those of us that are Loyal members, or who have been around a while, we can bypass it simply by bookmarking the forums we use constantly. (Tech Support and General Chat for instance.) That way, it forces users to read first, like doing the searching for them. Most people either just don't know how to search (The technically impaired) or are just too lazy. This fixes the problem for both groups.

Still would not work. A new user could easily hit "No" and go on to the forums, then bookmark it.

Could be done as a php script though. make it mandatory prior to log in... Not sure if it's possible with SMF or not, but there could be a way to disable the "Always logged in" option for users of specific ranks? If not, I'm sure it could be coded somehow. IDK... tbh it was just an idea that popped into my head. Something to think about.

Why someone would leave this community because of newbies posting spam I don't know. Most of the time it's in their own topics, so this generally doesn't apply:

...Not trying to be mean, but none of us can hold much serious conversation with idiots running around posting stupid replys like:

Quote
SATHYAM GARMENTSTHIS IS MY WEB NAME.I NEED SOME TEXTILE BACKGROUNDS BANNER & LOGC

Turn the caps off and speak understandable English.
...

110mb, even now, is one of the most literate forums I have seen. Most of the places I've been around have people talking like this:

Quote

HMMM i think i know how we can get a fair decent amount of respect from the noobs around here evil

Wait for it...

Keep waiting.....

WE GO ONE STRIKE THATS RIGHT STRIKE  evil

its quite simple we either post in topics we already are in or stop posting in total after all this is just a web community and if they fail to realize that they we should not reply to their needs...

And also i have not been replying as much either in many new topics due to such stupidity Sad

I used to help out alot of the newbies in the Technical Questions board...but the questions got so repetitive that it was becoming a pain in the ass. It'd be like 7-15 threads on the first page that ask and plead for answers about the site builder. I'm sitting there like "WTF!?!?!?!?!?!"

That's when I start going to all the threads and simply saying. "Search the forum. This question's been answered before plenty of times." and leave it at that.
