Hey guys,

I wanted to put some ads on my site, I wasn't sure who to go though, I was thinking google adsense,
What all info would I have to provide and what other service might be better for me in terms of payout.
Can I get paid per click/impressions or if not which of the two would be best?

Bidvertiser = Junk. 30k pageviews, ~$2. I'm currently running adsense on my accounts, they send a check, are only available to 18yr olds, and have a highish payout for small sites at $100 but they actually have good contextual advertising as well as pretty  much the largest ad network and tons of advertisers. Pay varies a lot depending on keywords etc, but is still higher than bidvertiser by far. (Got same amount of cash in 2 weeks with adsense than months with bidvertiser)

Anyway, what you need to know is that you shouldn't place popups/unders or other annoying obtrusive ads. I guarantee that you'll lose some viewers like that.

Adsense vaguely/subtley mentions cpm but really I believe 99.9% of sites won't get paid by cpm through adsense, especially for text ads.

CPM is good if your click ratio is good, unless your ad company is smart and lowers the cpm payout based on the click %. Basically, you'll have to experiment to find which pays best.

Bidvertiser is not "junk" people simply do not like it because you have to earn money by ad clicks instead of getting paid for views.

Either way.

I recommend not placing ads up at all. It was my biggest mistake, as for the few pennies you get it's not worth the trouble in my honest opinion.

I've had ads on my sites for roughly 5 months now, an I have only made $3.45. It's still money, but generally ads don't really pay as well as one would like. It's your call, I'm simply just saying that it's really just a waste in my opinion.

No, Adsense is possibly one of the worst. First, they make you wait until you get at least $100 saved up, and with ad clicks only being worth roughly 10 cents, that isn't saying much.

I personally like Bidvertiser, because it simply doesn't take 6 months to get paid unlike AdBrite, ect.

If you have a popular site you should be putting ads on to get some sort of revenue. If you have a bank account you can easily cash in a check. Google adsense is far to strict and not as good a bidvertiser.

Good Luck Smiley

PS: If you sign-up with bidvertiser if you use my referral link i would be grateful Smiley http://srv.bidvertiser.com/bidvertiser/referral_button.html?pid=194645

Thanks!

Popularity plays a tiny rule in advertisement and making money, but not enough to make any difference. I actually think ads turn away more people than they bring. If you really want to make money online, have some kind of service you offer.

Usually popularity = more traffic = more chances to get clicks = more $$. I don't think ads turn people away unless you have those full page ads or popups/unders or some other kind of obtrusive ads. I've never left a site because of simple banner/text ads.

Because it doesn't have good (or any) contextual advertising, you have to manually select which ads show up, and the ppc is relatively low.

Bidvertiser is not "junk" people simply do not like it because you have to earn money by ad clicks instead of getting paid for views.

Either way.

... you do realize that adsense is PPC (99.9%), right? Maybe you just have better luck than me with bidvertiser, and I'm currently not getting paid CPM from adsense at all.

If you're trying to make money fast from your sites (or at least receive the money fast), then adsense is not for you unless you have 1-2 months to spare while collecting $100 off your site (if it can do that in a month), and then waiting for the check to arrive via snailmail.

ppc = pay per click (every they pay you per ad click)
cpm = cost per 1000 impressions

But Manic... When a website gets traffic, and quite a bit of traffic, they make money... When you have a small site, you are less likely to get ad clicks.

Besides, BidVertiser does suck compared to AdSense, this is because BidVertiser is well, unknown really. AdSense is the leader. With AdSense you MUST choose a category for ads, which isn't good because then they change it themselves and all the ads they have never have anything to do with that category, but Google AdSense crawls your site and chooses what ads to display itself.

I have tried bidvertiser, and it is not so bad at all... the eCPM is way better than adbrite, which is horrible in how much you need to do to get decent payout. For bidvertiser, I'd say I get about $1.6/1000 views
