Well, we don't really know exactly, no one except the Google team knows how Google calculates PR, they have given us the equation, but not what it means

Firefox = Not Standards Compliant Windows is not bloated, users make it that way because of how much software is available. How can you bloat an OS that has little for it? (Linux)

I used to work for Yahoo! Search Marketing after their takeover of Overture...
They calculate based on how many links, and how high of a ranking the sites have which link to you... And many other factors.

Yahoo! uses primary linux kernel servers, with specially designed algorithms for deciding rank. Probably much like Google.
Yahoo's servers were half and half from ASP to PHP for a while, but it was rumored they were going to straight PHP.

And if Yahoo falls in to Ms hands they will go straight for ASP.net  they would have to re do there ranking most of it are less relevant then the ones lower and on page 2 some times
