*sigh* well it really wouldent be deception though, the people who know what "Underground" normally means and who has the password knows what it is, but the others that dont have it (meaning they are under-age or just dont have a adult site) will be perfectly safe from the "harmfull" content, and this way parents wont look in and see "Adult Section" and instantly block you, this way its still good for buiseness (i mean the adult buiseness is like what atleast 5-10% of this community)
im serious i have a good feeling about making it like that, the people who cant get in will think of it as like some kind of VIP section and no one will get in trouble if a parent see's that Nasty "Adult" lol

That is all very good... except it would not be very descriptive. And good business is about telling your clients up-front what you've got to offer, what your policies are, and whatnot.

Diemux was saying there would be a problem with having it in a forum here at all, so the approach was going to be to use another forum on another server somewhere, and just designate it as the appropriate place to discuss Adult sites. 110 wouldn't be responsible for age-verification, they wouldn't be affiliated with the whole sticky business, they could just mention the URL in the FAQ or ToS, remind people when staff members locked Adult site threads in "Let Us See Your Site!", and have done with it. That way there's at least somewhere designated - so there would be a centralized repository for those sites, even if it wasn't here - and they still wouldn't be on the forums. So what we're ideally looking for is someone with a) server space, and presumably a forum already up, who b) doesn't mind hosting a web-design forum for Adult sites, and the possible miscategorization by Google AdSense labelling a mere forum as an out-and-out "Adult" site. Since we haven't found that, I would imagine we'd still be looking. Any takers? There's web traffic in it if anyone's interested.
Be well,

110 wouldn't be responsible for age-verification, they wouldn't be affiliated with the whole sticky business, they could just mention the URL in the FAQ or ToS Wouldn't they be considered affiliated by placing it in their own TOS, or FAQ? The site would still be as readily available to minors as if it were posted right here. The only way 110mb could be considered unaffiliated would be to not have any links, or information to said content. Speaking for myself, I dont understand the "shield the sexual content from the minors, but lets flood their senses with blood and gore" ideology but do appreciate the fact that 110mb respects the wishes of "concerned" parents. Hmm...this would actually make a good debate..

Whatever our feelings on the issue, we're trying to respect the concerns of parents going ballistic - or at least respect that 110MB.com respects the concerns of parents who would go ballistic - and yet also seek a solution whereby 110MB members with legitimate Adult websites can discuss them from a web-design standpoint.
As for affiliation, designating a place is not the same as being affiliated with it. And from a legal standpoint, a disclaimer to that effect would indemnify 110MB. It would do so in a commercial law venue, which is business law and is the same the world over regardless of what country one is in - with the possible exception of Antarctica, but the penguins have never really been very big on lawyers. So they can just deal with it. Bite me, penguins.
And as for 110MB being unaffiliated with adult sites, the only way to do that completely would be to make hosting Adult sites against the ToS entirely. As it currently is, they are allowed - but you can't discuss them here and there's no one place to go to do that, which is a significant impediment to users with Adult sites. I wanted to ask staff if there was somewhere designated, state the need to have somewhere that is designated, and leave them on their own recognizance regarding it. It's an absurd problem in the first place, and since I didn't have a taste for worms I'm regretting having accidentally opened a can of them with this. No good deed goes unpunished, and all that jazz. Unfortunately, the problem still remains.
You know, it's great that people feel so at home at 110MB that they can feel comfortable debating its policies. That shows how awesome the staff here are. But ultimately it all comes down to a staff decision. I just wanted to ask if there was a place for it, point out the problem since there wasn't, and submit a possible solution to them.
